ITS ABOUT TO GET REAL

isaiah 40:1-5 “1 Comfort, comfort my people, says your God. 2 Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and cry to her that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received from the Lord’s hand double for all her sins. 3 A voice cries: “In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. 4 Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level, and the rough places a plain. 5 And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.””

Isaiah 40:3 “3 A voice cries: “In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.”

i think about this time of year and i think about Christmas. The birth of our Lord. i think then about John. and His ministry and how much of a prophectic reality it was as John was baptizing and discussing and literally PREPARING peoples HEARTS ahead of JESUS himself:

Luke 3:2-7 “2 during the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John the son of Zechariah in the wilderness. 3 And he went into all the region around the Jordan, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. 4 As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. 5 Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be made low, and the crooked shall become straight, and the rough places shall become level ways, 6 and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.’ ” 7 He said therefore to the crowds that came out to be baptized by him, “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?”

ALOT OF PEOPLE THINK THAT ALL JOHN DID WAS BAPTIZE.... but thats not ALL that he did. he actually TAUGHT.... and INSTRUCTED the PEOPLE on what to do!

Verses 10-14 The ask him WHAT SHALL WE DO?

and he answered: He answered their questions....

Luke 3:11-15 “11 And he answered them, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.” 12 Tax collectors also came to be baptized and said to him, “Teacher, what shall we do?” 13 And he said to them, “Collect no more than you are authorized to do.” 14 Soldiers also asked him, “And we, what shall we do?” And he said to them, “Do not extort money from anyone by threats or by false accusation, and be content with your wages.” 15 As the people were in expectation, and all were questioning in their hearts concerning John, whether he might be the Christ,”

..... He ministered to people and he TOLD them what they needed to hear: This is about to GET REAL.

luke 3:6 “6 and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.’ ””

the very same thing we see in Isaiah 40:5 “5 And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.””

YOURE GONNA SEE. THIS IS ABOUT TO GET SO REAL YOU CAN TOUCH HIM. JESUS IS COMING. THE SON OF GOD IS COMING. SALVATION IN THE FLESH IS COMING. THIS IS ABOUT TO GET REAL.

1.JESUS IS REAL.

Have you ever considered the “real-ness” of Jesus.?? how REAL HE was.

I think the most significant miracle i can possibly think of is that this.....

thats JESUS - that he is the REAL deal.

Jesus REALLY is coming in IS 40. and Came when John was ministering and HE REALLY IS COMING for you and for me.

Jesus is REAL.

HES A REAL GOD. He was Before, He came in the FLESH. he LIVED A SIN-LESS life. He TOOK A SINNERS DEATH and He was Buried and ROSE again.

Its a VERY DEAL THING.

1 Tim 3:16 “16 Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.”

The Reality of JESUS has never been in question. even Atheists and unbelievers will TELL you the HISTORICAL account of JESUS us accurate. the Biblical account is corrrect. He was a REAL human being and his name REALLY was Jesus.

But the REALITY of JESUS is this: The Glory of the Lord being REVEALED is the REALITY of JESUS CHRIST>

Jesus is REAL.

and he was PROPHESIZED as BEING REAL AS WELL.

What did the Prophets declare to the people of God: Hey Guys..... um, THIS IS ABOUT TO GET REAL. Like not just SERIOUS: BUT REAL IN THE FLESH.

John 1:14 “14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

2.HE CAN BE REAL TO YOU.

He can be REAL to your HEART. to teh VERY depth of who you are: He is a Savior who saves. He cares. He is REAL.

Jesus cares about ALL OF YOU:

JESUS doesnt care primarily for your things

JESUS doesnt primarily care for your opportunites....

the RICH YOUNG RULER HAD IT ALL.... Except one thing he lacked!

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING JESUS CARES ABOUT IS YOUR HEART.

And its WHAT HE DOES in YOUR HEART that ultimately natters for eternity: Its about to get REAL!

Romans 5:18-19 “18 Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men. 19 For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous.”
