Theme: Which of God's promises most comfort you through life's trials and triumphs? God's Word beckons His people to trust him because of what He has done, what he will do, because He has said it, and because he keeps His promises.. As the Lord pronounces his prophecies and fulfills them, He shows Himself eminently truthful and trustworthy. This familiar Advent passage reminds us of God's kindness in providing us ironclad reasons to trust Him, most principally through the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. As we begin this Advent season, let us look and marvel and grow in trust toward God who fulfills prophecy and purchases promises where we can stake our eternal hope.
