Peace

What comes to mind when you hear that word?

Peace as Greeting and Farewells
Peace as in ones welfare
Peace as the absence of hostility
Peace as proper relationship

True peace is found in Jesus the Messiah.

Micah 5:2 ESV
2 But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days.

Peace from the unlikely places

Micah 5:3 ESV
3 Therefore he shall give them up until the time when she who is in labor has given birth; then the rest of his brothers shall return to the people of Israel.

Peace at the proper time.

Micah 5:4 ESV
4 And he shall stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God. And they shall dwell secure, for now he shall be great to the ends of the earth.

Peace in the Lord’s care.

Micah 5:5 (ESV)
5 And he shall be their peace.

Peace in its fullness created by Jesus the Messiah.

How is Christ our peace today?

Ephesians 2:12–18 ESV
12 remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. 14 For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility 15 by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, 16 and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility. 17 And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near. 18 For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father.

Receive and live in the Peace of Jesus
