1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.
19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
God is a God of systems and patterns…
The first chapter of Genesis establishes that pattern. Every foundational doctrine of the Word of God is found in the first chapter of the bible...
Along with the importance of systems!
God’s mantra:
40 Let all things be done decently and in order.
Genesis establishes days, weeks, months and years which is the system of time that God made for us to operate in.
Pass out Hebrew Calendar
Everything hangs on or works within a cycle...
God placed these cycles for us to learn and prosper in them...
Most basic of cycles:
Season of rain
Season of heat
Season of cool
Season of cold
Lesson learned
Before the rain, till
After the rain, plant
During the heat, cultivate
Harvest and store in the cool
Survive the cold
This cycle is as important for us today as it was millennia ago.
There are times of rain, sun, cool and cold in our lives and we have to learn to operate within the system that God has established!
God moves in cycles or seasons.
Principle: what you see in the physical is a reflection of what you see in the spiritual.
Just as the physical seasons bring specific and predictable things, learning spiritual seasons will bring specific and predictable things.
11 I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.
Not only is there concrete rules that apply to time...
But situations, circumstances, decisions, hurts, events also also start cycles (good or bad) in your life.
Israel is at Jordan’s River and choose NOT to go into the promised land.
Were they bared forever?
No, the were put on a 40 year cycle until God was ready to once again (more specifically they were ready) to take the Promised Land.
40 = time of testing
We all experience this.
January 1st is New Years.
January 1st, 2005 Grandpa Alphin passed away.
Every birthday since I was 16 I remember the horse accident I was in, where I lost a finger and mangles another.
September 11th, 2001
November 22, 1963 JFK assassinated
December 7, 1941 Pearl Harbor was bombed
We know what to do with the physical and spiritual cycles in our lives...
What do we do with the phycological cycles in our lives?
Be aware and honest with yourself and those around you
Notice the patterns
“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”
― Carl Gustav Jung

Remember: it does not matter what was done to you, it matters how your respond to what was done.
Protect yourself and others
Our seasons and cycles produce triggers!
I have a thing about ropes.
I don’t put a leash is anything without carefully looping it as not to get it tangled in it.
It don’t matter all the things that I had done wrong…
31 yrs later, it left a deep impression on me!
What about the unspeakable things that haunt people?
Murder, rape, abuse, tremendous loss…?
Recognize and protect
Reprogram
You have to recognize what is going on and control the thought process!
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
An abused woman by a man can come to hate all men...
To heal, she has to recognize that one man was responsible, not all.
And deal with her thoughts when they wrong one arises!
