Today, we're going to talk about Joy.
Scripture tells us the joy of the Lord is our strength.
Today is we like the joy candle.
The question that we have to ask ourselves as we do, we have the joy that God wants to have.
We can have their worlds joy in that.
Only lasts for a short.
Of time, but when we have God's joy, It Last Forever.
As the Shepherds were told about the birth of Christ.
It said they had exceeding great joy, they rejoiced that he was born.
If you have Christ in your heart, do you have that same exceeding?
Great joy.
If not, why not?
We need that joy in this world.
We live in today.
So let's put Christ first.
Let's allow him to fill us with his joy.
And then that will have the Hope in the peace in the love.
That he wants us to have Bennett.
You're going to help me late a couple and Scarlett will help me like a couple.
Sorry.
We like the joy candle today.
All right, you got to keep your eyes on these today.
Make sure they don't catch fire.
Charles has something she's going to do it.
Very good.
Let's pray.
You like that one.
Father.
We thank you.
We thank you for the joy that we can have in Jesus Christ.
We thank you for these children and the hope and the peace that they can have him knowing Christ as your lord and savior.
We ask that you go before us guide us and directors is only you can in Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
Thank you guys.
Morning, if you have your Bible turn with me, will to Psalm 89.
Psalm 89 verse 15.
Two or three types of four types of Joy.
This morning.
We're going to talk about what we find in Psalm 89 in verse 15. this thought, Blessed are the people who know those joyful sound, they walk or Lord in the light of your countenance?
Blessed are the people he says, who know the joyful sound?
Joyful, sound.
For the shade.
Joyful, sounds for the centers with thankful, for those sound or thankful for what God can do regardless of where we are in life.
Whether we're the young ones over here saying or the little bit older ones over here, singing as well doing their parts.
It's a joyful sound that gets us and excites us and makes us happy.
Those of us.
Who are, you can remember this sum will have no clue.
How many of you can remember the first time you got a television with a remote control with a muse on it?
Remember that?
What did you do when the commercial came on?
Once you got that power in your hand?
What you do, you muted the commercials and therefore it didn't take long after you muted.
Those commercials with new ones would come on.
You had no clue what they were.
Am I right?
I mean before you can watch him on television.
The wee ones are commercial, you know, when you can sing along, even with they were neutered, you knew what they were saying.
You knew what it was about.
But once we were able to take the sound of shut it off.
We didn't have to listen to that mess anymore.
And he eventually eventually, we had no idea what the commercials were about it.
Like, I watch commercial now and sometimes I have no clue what they're talking about.
The what are they talking about?
Right?
And even when I get done, I'm supposed to have a clue.
I couldn't tell you what it was about her, that has no purpose to it.
Sound is important.
The sound of Joyful.
Sound is important for you.
And for me as Believers, it's important for us to have a joyful sound to those around us so that they would know this hope that we have.
The problem is and I use this illustration and I maybe I use it too much with, you know, the story about Adam and Eve in the garden.
Got so you can have all this enjoy, just leave that alone.
Don't go over there and they chose to go over there and partake of that, which God told them, that if they had a choice, they had the freedom to do.
Whatever.
God says, you got all this.
Just don't go over there and they went anyway.
And in my thought, process this week, I'm taking your weed as Christians are somewhat, the same way just in the opposite direction.
As Christians as Believers will say, Lord come into my heart.
Be my Lord, and be my savior.
Hopefully you've done that, Lord.
You can do whatever you want with me, but, Don't ask me or don't show me or don't direct me.
We have that dark spot in our hearts that we sell God not to go into.
Yesterday, we had some grandchildren over to her house, watching them in the afternoon and we had to make a rule when they got there.
Usually, they have the freedom to go wherever they want the house.
But this rule.
Yes.
It was his okay, guys.
Nobody can go upstairs.
You can't go upstairs into the bedroom.
So the question.
The answer or the the thing was once we made that statement there was a lot of question.
Well, why not?
Because we said, so.
This Christmas presents up there that haven't been wrapped yet.
Mostly, there's when you have nine grandkids, there's a lot of Christmas presents up here.
That haven't been wrapped yet.
That was a rule, all of a sudden.
You can't go upstairs.
Guess what?
They're looking, they're looking at the stairs.
