Good News of Great Joy For All the People. v.8-14

A. An Angel fo the Lord Appears to Shepherds in a field keeping watch over their flock. v. 8-9a

NOTE: We live in a world that has always exalted power, prestige, money, and status. This picture portrays the character of God. Romans 2:11, Acts 10:34, God is no respecter of persons. Would it be a surprise to you if an angel of the Lord showed up in an inner city slum, a gay bar, or a factory to announce good news? Jesus is born among animals and laid in a feeding trough and shepherds in a field are the first to receive the good news. This sounds exactly like God.

NOTE: The glory of the Lord shone around them and they were terribly frightened.

B. The Good News

1. For All people

2. There has been born for you a Savior who is Christ the Lord.

3. The sign will be “you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.

4. The appearance of the heavenly hosts praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.”

NOTE: you have powerful rulers calling for census while average everyday people are hearing from and obeying God.
