Exodus 3:7–8 ESV
Then the Lord said, “I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings, and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
I have seen the affliction of my people…
I have heard their cry....
I know their sufferings....
God knows!
“I have come down to deliver them”
God is not dependent on anything or anyone.
He suffers no lack, knows no limitation, and experiences no deficiency.
He is “I AM THAT I AM.”
God does not need us. But, He loves us passionately
He created us on purpose with a purpose
Exodus 3:9–10 ESV
And now, behold, the cry of the people of Israel has come to me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”
“Come, I will send you”
Sending you is sending me…
God was telling Moses that you will represent me....
I will send you to Pharaoh…
That you may bring my people out of Egypt…
For New Testament believers, Egypt represents our old life of slavery to sin...
People are hurting…
Afflicted
Crying out
Suffering
and God is sending us.....
That’s why I have to understand how valuable I am.
Exodus 3:11 ESV
But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?”
Who am I that I should go?
How do you view yourself?
Do you see yourself with inabilities?
Do you see yourself with insecurities?
Do you have self-doubt
Uncertainty?
There is power in what you say!
What he said out loud is a reflection of what he felt inside!
Who am I....
You don’t get my life!
Exodus 3:12 ESV
He said, “But I will be with you, and this shall be the sign for you, that I have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.”
“But I will be with you”
I’ve always been with you....
Exodus 4:10–12 ESV
But Moses said to the Lord, “Oh, my Lord, I am not eloquent, either in the past or since you have spoken to your servant, but I am slow of speech and of tongue.” Then the Lord said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak.”
Exodus 4:13 ESV
But he said, “Oh, my Lord, please send someone else.”
Exodus 4:14 ESV
Then the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses and he said, “Is there not Aaron, your brother, the Levite? I know that he can speak well. Behold, he is coming out to meet you, and when he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.
“Oh my Lord, I am not eloquent, either in the past or since you have spoken to your servant, but I am slow of speech and of tongue”
I do not have the ability to fulfill the assignment set before
I have identified my insecurity
Do you know how many times I have felt this way!!!!!
For this reason Please!!!!! Send someone else....
God disliked his response but as a loving Father found a solution…
My inability is an opportunity to experience God’s ability
His slow of speech and of tongue - Kept him reliant on God
Humility is key
Exodus 4:15–16 ESV
You shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth, and I will be with your mouth and with his mouth and will teach you both what to do. He shall speak for you to the people, and he shall be your mouth, and you shall be as God to him.
God siad....
You shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth
The only reason why you’re putting words in his mouth is because I’m going to give you what to say…
I will be with your mouth and with his mouth and will teach you both what to do.
He shall speak for you to the people
He shall be your mouth!
You shall be as God to him!
Moses was God’s representative / Moses was God’s Image
Believe it or not.... WE are as God to people.....`
