Matthew 1:18–25 KJV 1900
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. 20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. 22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. 24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: 25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

Jesus is God

John 1:14 KJV 1900
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Jesus did not begin in the manger
Jesus taught about His preexistent nature
John 6:38 KJV 1900
38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
Mark 2:7 KJV 1900
7 Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?
Mark 2:17 KJV 1900
17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Matthew 9:13 KJV 1900
13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Luke 5:32 KJV 1900
32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
John 17:5 KJV 1900
5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

This was a planned event on God’s calendar, long before the world was created

1 Corinthians 2:7–8 KJV 1900
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
1 Peter 1:19–21 KJV 1900
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, 21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
Galatians 4:4–5 KJV 1900
4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
There was a planned time
This wasn’t a surprise to God
Slain before the foundations of the world
God knew man would choose to sin and planned how he would redeem man.

Jesus’ Incarnation Was A Act of Complete Humility

Philippians 2:6–8 KJV 1900
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Jesus completely humbled himself
Jesus humility allowed us to be saved
fulness of time
correct and precise time
Form the very nature of God - possesses inwardly and outwardly
Father, Son, Holy Ghost
The baby in the manger possessed the very nature of God inside Jesus
God in the flesh
Some think that Jesus was a little less than God
How do you describe and understand that Jesus became a baby - God became a human being.
How do we comprehend that
The earth is His footstool
Creator God became a baby
This wasn't just a baby, this wasn't just a man - God with us
This wasn't God sending someone else to pay for our sins - God payed the price that we owed so we could be at one with Him!
Romans 5:5–11 KJV 1900
5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. 6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
Have you understood that if you have accepted Jesus as your Saviour that you are no longer under the condemnation of God?
We are saved from wrath through HIM!
What an amazing concept.
Through His blood we become God’s children
WE Joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement
Do you know where Jesus came from
God the Father gave His finest gift when Sent His Son and wrapped Him in a manger.
He thought it not robbery to be equal with God...
phil2:6
Philippians 2:6 KJV 1900
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
God the Son is equal with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit
He left His place in Glory so we could go to Glory.
Reputation - Jesus made Himself nothing so we could be something
Jesus emptied Himself so we could be filled
He didn’t come to a palace as He deserved
He didn't come in a chariot like He deserved
He came to a lowly stable
He took upon Himself the nature of a servant - Through His entire life He served
God Served Man
Philippians 2:7 KJV 1900
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
became human likeness
when you looked at him 2000 years ago, he looked just like a man
there is nothing wrong with giving gifts
there is nothing wrong with decorations
nothing wrong with egg nog
nothing wrong with extra time with family
God became a man
Isaiah 7:14 KJV 1900
14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, And shall call his name Immanuel.
emptied himself, made himself nothing
Fully God
Emanuel
Jesus emptied himself into something else
Isaiah 53:2–8 KJV 1900
2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, And as a root out of a dry ground: He hath no form nor comeliness; And when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3 He is despised and rejected of men; A man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: And we hid as it were our faces from him; He was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, And carried our sorrows: Yet we did esteem him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: The chastisement of our peace was upon him; And with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned every one to his own way; And the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, Yet he opened not his mouth: He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, So he openeth not his mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: And who shall declare his generation? For he was cut off out of the land of the living: For the transgression of my people was he stricken.
Jesus emptied himself into humanity
humbled to a servant
he took upon himself a human body
into a sinful society as a man
as an outcast from His own creation
to be abused by His own creation
to be shamefully displayed before those he loved
To bear the curse of the law and the curse of death
He emptied himself into sorrow, and grief, and suffering, and sacrifice
found in fashion as a man
Just like us he got tired
He enjoyed sitting by the warmth of a fire
He liked to eat food, just like you and I
But His deity could be seen - His deity shined through
Peace be still
Mark 4:39 KJV 1900
39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
Mark 4:40–41 KJV 1900
40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
They couldn't comprehend God in the flesh was with them
God Himself leaves heaven
Sees this world in it’s sinful condition
Emptied Himself into a human body
1 Corinthians 3:16 KJV 1900
16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
God took on the form of a Human so that God could live in us.
Revelation 21:3 KJV 1900
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
God took on the form of a Human so that He could dwell with us.
Revelation 3:20 KJV 1900
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
God wants to have a relationship with us, with you personally
its not about religion
When someone puts their faith in Jesus something happens, something changes
Jesus humbled Himself and was robed in flesh and in like manner God wants us to humble ourselves and follow His leading. God gives us the opportunity to acquire the character of the messiah through salvation and submission to His Spirit
Philippians
Born in the manger to go to the cross.
As Jesus died on the cross, He looked like a weak human; he was suffering, bleeding, dying.
Isaiah 53:10 KJV 1900
10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: When thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, He shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
He looked like a week human being.
Luke 23:36–37 KJV 1900
36 And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar, 37 And saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself.
then one of the soldiers after seeing Jesus, in His humanity, glorified God because the soldier saw Jesus’ deity shining through His righteousness.
God showed through Jesus Body
Father forgive them for they know not
the most authentic act a christian can do is - forgive
Jesus came to demonstrate God’s forgiveness
The son of God born in the Body of a baby
Are you saved
God wants to be in you and have you live in His presence forever
That’s why Jesus came - so you could be with Him
Romans 10:13 KJV 1900
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
John 1:12 KJV 1900
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Romans 3:10 KJV 1900
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Romans 5:12 KJV 1900
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Death is guaranteed friend
Romans 6:23 KJV 1900
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
but there is another option - eternal life
Romans 10:9 KJV 1900
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:10 KJV 1900
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
God came in the flesh to live a perfect life so He can pay the penalty for our sin in order to give you a gift of eternal life.
