WE EXIST TO HELP PEOPLE KNOW JESUS AND FIND PURPOSE
HOW MANY OF YOU REMEMBER NEW YEARS EVE 2019 GOING INTO 2020? — Seems like 7 years ago — optimistic? —PICTURE OF EMILY AND I — disappointed? — how do you handle disappointments? Disappointed by God? — Marriage? — Kids? — Depression? — Anxiety? — No one planned on 15 days to slow the spread turning into 15 months and now who knows how long.
MOST POWERFUL CHRISTMAS STORY IN LUKE 2 — 400 YEARS SINCE GOD HAD SPOKEN
10 but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. 11 The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!
Did we need a teacher? A Counselor? no we needed forgiveness so he sent a savior
12 And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”
A sign is an object that points to a message — the sign sent wasn’t what we would expect — He sent a baby — Born in a hollowed out cave — wrapped in rags —
13 Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”

FAST FORWARD TO THE CROSS — MARY 33 YEARS LATER — THE GIRL WHO SAID YES NOW SEE’S HER SON WHO HAS NEVER SINNED STRIPPED AND NAILED TO A CROSS — AND WATCHES HIM DIE....
YOU DON’T HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THE PLAN WHEN YOU HAVE FAITH AND UNDERSTAND HIS CHARACTER — He loves you — he has plans for you — HIS PURPOSE AND WILL ARE ALWAYS BETTER
YOU MAY HAVE A PLAN — MARY AND JOSEPH HAD A PLAN — BUT GOD HAD A PURPOSE
YOU WERE THAT PURPOSE!
21 And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
HIS NAME IS JESUS — HE IS THE LAMB OF GOD — HE CAME TO GIVE HIS LIFE IN OUR PLACE — WE CAN NOW HAVE THE PEACE OF GOD
1 In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He existed in the beginning with God. 3 God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. 4 The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.
