Introduction: Marvel with me at the goodness of God, particularly as those who know the salvation that are announced by God's goodness.

  • Psalm 65 begins with the offering of praise in the city of God and in the place of worship
    • to you our vows will be fulfilled. (the sense of promise fits best)
    • vows of thanksgiving and worship (per v. 1)
  • David looks at the bounty the harvest with a trained eye for its real implication - grace, grace and forgiveness. The first verses carry the weight of this Psalm. Now he ponders the forgiveness that is evident in God's bountiful blessings.
  • David then shows that He values the good of God in worship even more than the bounty itself.
  • Finally David speaks of the lavish way that God displays his goodness among men. you answer us with awesome deeds of righteousness. v5. That righteousness is displayed the world over for all to see and in deed all depend upon it.

God is very good to all. He sends the rain upon the just and the unjust alike. Matthew 5.45
