Word of the night: Present

How do you say that word? What do you mean by the word?

Wherever you are—be all there. Jim Elliot

Yvette shared this quote with our teens this past week.
Luke 2:6–7 NIV
While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
Luke 2:19 NIV
But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.

Present-as in intentionally being aware of what is going on right now.

This is the essence of what the quote from Jim Elliot conveys. Being present is more than just be in a certain location. It is taking in what is going on and pondering them. This is what we find in the words of Luke concerning Mary.
John 1:16 NIV
Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given.
Luke 2:21 (NIV)
On the eighth day, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.

Present-as in gift.

This is one way of saying and using the word. This is the time when we definitely think of gifts.

Present-as in proclaiming/teaching/showing.

As like what I am doing knowing, sharing information, asking you to listen.

Jesus is present with us as a present to present us God’s love.

Will you be present to the present which is presented to us this Christmas: Jesus the Lord!
