There’s a lot of debate about WHEN you put up the tree — BUT THAT TREE MEANS SO MUCH MORE THAN A PLACE FOR YOU TO PUT YOUR PRESENTS UNDER

FIRST CHRISTMAS TREES — 16th Century Christians in Germany — PARADISE TREE — Garden of Eden — This time when things were as God intended — Perfect — Close relationship with God — MARTIN LUTHER credited with putting candles on the tree — FIRST LIGHTS

FIRST TREE BROUGHT DEATH — SEPARATION FROM GOD

BUT THERE IS ANOTHER TREE MENTIONED IN THE BIBLE — We don’t just celebrate that Jesus was born but what He was born to do

1 Peter 2:24 ESV

24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.

The first separated us from God but the second tree restored that relationship — REMEMBER YOU WERE THE PURPOSE FOR JESUS COMING — FOR HIM DYING — So that our relationship with God could be restored — WHEN WE SEE THAT TREE WE REMEMBER NOT JUST THAT JESUS CAME BUT WHAT HE CAME FOR
