Don't Play with God

This passage not just about hypocrisy

All human beings are hypocrites

My struggle

-2002 - God gave me a vision

-Based on the book of Acts

-Plant churches through small group Bible study

-Work the left side of the graph

-Discipleship and training

Preaching and the forgetting curve

Forget 80% in the first 20 min.

Discipleship happens "out there"

We need church - to assemble

A place to serve

But the discipleship happens during a shared life together

If we truly want to follow the examples in Acts, then we have to change everything we do!

Reboot

We all tend to forget why we do what we do

So why do we live but Ananias was instantly struck dead?

-Intentionally putting on a show

-Preplanned for his own glory

God made him an example

"And great fear came upon all who heard it." v. 5

Don't play with God

Unintentional

29-30

Unintentional

- They forgot the purpose of the Lord's Supper

- Coming together each sharing what he has

Paul warns them to take it very seriously

We should, too

What about Sapphira?

7-11

She had the opportunity to be honest and tell the truth

She maintained her lie

God knows the truth even if we try to hide it.

Lessons for us

Be honest with God

(Be honest with ourselves)

Give from a sincere heart

Take spiritual matters seriously

Next Sunday we make some changes

New place to meet

Frist Sunday of a New Year (Gregorian)

Why are we doing this?

Don't play with God
