The Wise Men Were Warned by God, Matthew 2:1-15

They were divinely warned, Matthew 2:12. God warned the wise men. They heeded the Word of God. They diligently searched for the young child.

They returned home another way, Matthew 2:12. The Gospel teaches us to change direction. Jesus teaches us to change direction.

Hebrews 12, 6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

Joseph was warned. Matthew 2, 13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.

Herod talked dedication, but his goal was destruction. Matthew 2, 13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.

God sees everything.

God’s warnings are direct.

1 John 3, 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

There is no truth in the devil.

We line ourselves up with the Bible. If we heed God’s Word, it will keep us out of trouble.

1 John 2, 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Are you willing to heed God’s warnings?
