But now thus says the Lord,
he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name, you are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.
For I am the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
I give Egypt as your ransom,
Cush and Seba in exchange for you.
F is for Forgiveness
F is for Forgiveness
We all need forgiveness.
as it is written:
“None is righteous, no, not one;
no one understands;
no one seeks for God.
All have turned aside; together they have become worthless;
no one does good,
not even one.”
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
The Bible makes clear that all of us, no matter our background, no matter our lineage. No matter our parents, we are all sinners before a Holy God.
God is righteous, but we are sinners against God’s righteous rule and reign.
OVer 900 times the Bible describes God as Holy. Holy means set apart, other. God is holy and righteous and
Habakkuk 1:13 (ESV)
You who are of purer eyes than to see evil and cannot look at wrong...
A is for AVAILABLE
A is for AVAILABLE
Forgiveness is available.
It’s available through Christ.
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,
It is available for all.
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
But, it’s not automatic:
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
I is For IMPOSSIBLE
I is For IMPOSSIBLE
It’s impossible to get to heaven on our own.
We needed someone to save us.
But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law,
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
T is for TURN
T is for TURN
If you were going down a road and someone asked you to turn they would be telling you to change direction.
Repentance is a change of direction
To repent of sin and death.
No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.
Turn from something:
And turn to someone
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
So how do we repent?
because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
H is for HEAVEN
H is for HEAVEN
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
Heaven is abundant life.
Heaven is eternity with God.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
If you were to die today, are you assured that you would spend eternity in heaven with God?
