Is 6:9–10 And he replied: Go! Say to these people: Keep listening, but do not understand; keep looking, but do not perceive. Make the minds of these people dull; deafen their ears and blind their eyes; otherwise they might see with their eyes and hear with their ears, understand with their minds,

I solemnly charge you before God and Christ Jesus, who is going to judge the living and the dead, and because of his appearing and his kingdom: Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, and encourage with great patience and teaching. For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, will multiply teachers for themselves because they have an itch to hear what they want to hear. They will turn away from hearing the truth and will turn aside to myths. But as for you, exercise self-control in everything, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
Itching Ears
Genesis 12:1–9 (CSB)
The Lord said to Abram:
Go from your land,
your relatives,
and your father’s house
to the land that I will show you.
I will make you into a great nation,
I will bless you,
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you,
I will curse anyone who treats you with contempt,
and all the peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.
So Abram went, as the Lord had told him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he left Haran. He took his wife, Sarai, his nephew Lot, all the possessions they had accumulated, and the people they had acquired in Haran, and they set out for the land of Canaan. When they came to the land of Canaan, Abram passed through the land to the site of Shechem, at the oak of Moreh. (At that time the Canaanites were in the land.) The Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your offspring, I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the Lord who had appeared to him. From there he moved on to the hill country east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. He built an altar to the Lord there, and he called on the name of the Lord. Then Abram journeyed by stages to the Negev.
if you look closely Abram had everything! the world holds dear, family, friends, financial wealth… so
Why listen, why follow, why Go?

Obedience is proof of attentive ears.
Christian Standard Bible Chapter 2
13 For the hearers of the law are not righteous before God, but the doers of the law will be justified.
God’s Promise
presence “I will be with you”
Truth: You cannot stay where you are and go with God!
provision “I will Bless You”,
Inherent in this is God’s protection
Purpose “I will make you a blessing”, “all the world will be blessed by you”
You cannot fulfill God’s Purpose for your life is you don’t listen and obey His voice!
James 1: 22-25
But be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
Because if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like someone looking at his own face in a mirror.
For he looks at himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of person he was.
But the one who looks intently into the perfect law of freedom and perseveres in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer who works—this person will be blessed in what he does.
Without our obedience, we cannot receive God's blessing.
We won't be able to hear God unless we make the decision to listen.
If we just surround ourselves with individuals who will tell us what we want to hear, we will never hear God.
