Lord’s Supper

Go ahead and let’s take a moment to have the holy crunch of plastic as we open the elements of the Lord’s table tonight.
Thankful for our church family. Thankful for the many blessings God provides.
The Lord’s Supper, the Lord’s Table, or Communion has one purpose behind it and that is for us to remember the Lord Jesus Christ together.
Our relationship to another is directly related to our relationship with the Lord. Not the presents we buy, the Christmas cards we forget to hadn out, or anything material like that. Those can be outward expressions of our relationship but not the source of it.
The bonds that bring Christians together are fare greater than any of these. We are bound together by the gospel, the power of God unto Salvation, and the ultimate expression of love for you and I.
At Christmas time we celebrate the birth of Jesus who came to die for our sins as God incarnate and suffer the death of cross so that we may have life.
It is that sacrifice we look back on tonight.
Would you take a moment and bow your heads together. Reflect on this last year all that God has done. Think about Jesus and His sacrifice for you. Clear up anything between you and God.
The Bible says, Luke 22:19-20 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
Eat without saying anything
(20) Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
Drink without saying anything

Candlelight Service

I had someone ask me, whats a candlelight service? It was interesting explaining this and why we do it.
the purpose of this evening is for us to worship God and celebrate his birth while we look forward to His return.
In between these two appearances I believe it is important for us to understand and know who Jesus is to us and what He has called us to do.
John 8:12 KJV 1900
12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Jesus is the light of the world and has called us to be that light in his physical absence
Matthew 5:14 KJV 1900
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Tonight as we light our candles and sing of that holy night, I ask you to not only look back on it with fondness and appreciation but to also consider how you are bring a light in this dark world.
Maybe you’ve never trusted in Jesus and don’t know what it means to have a relationship with God through Him.
I love for you to receive the greatest Christmas gift ever tonight, thee gift of salvation.
How do you obtain tht gift? Well, first it’s important to know there is no work that you can do to earn salvation.
Ephesians 2:8–9 KJV 1900
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
John 3:16 KJV 1900
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Romans 10:13 KJV 1900
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
It’s that easy.
Would you bow with me please?
