These “wise men” had convictions: “Where is he?” v. 2. They looked for a person, not a tradition or creed.

They did not follow every “star” that appeared, as is the manner of some people today, Eph. 4:14.
Skeptics
Many are following the skeptic’s “star,” 2 Peter 3:4.
Foolish Followers
Others are following the fool’s “star,” Luke 12:19.

Sharing
They shared their wealth with Jesus—gold, etc., v. 11.
Their interest was in “giving” instead of receiving.

The prospect of worship gave them “joy,” v. 10.

They showed more respect to Christ than to Herod’s command to report to him, vv. 8, 12.
