Luke 1:46–55 ESV
46 And Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord, 47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, 48 for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant. For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed; 49 for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name. 50 And his mercy is for those who fear him from generation to generation. 51 He has shown strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts; 52 he has brought down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of humble estate; 53 he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty. 54 He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy, 55 as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his offspring forever.”
We should Magnify the Christ in Christmas

(1) He is Elevating Your Status

Luke 1:46–50 ESV
46 And Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord, 47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, 48 for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant. For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed; 49 for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name. 50 And his mercy is for those who fear him from generation to generation.
Ex: Clout Chaser — looked at very negatively, but the human soul longs for and deserves meaning and significance. But what happens when someone’s legitimate desire for clout destroys them. We like to all those people clout chasers.
God elevates Mary as the mother of Jesus. But for the believer in Jesus, he gets a bigger status. You are not merely the mother of Jesus. When God sees you if you have believed on Jesus. He sees Jesus.

(2) He is Disrupting Our Unbalanced World

Luke 1:51–53 ESV
51 He has shown strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts; 52 he has brought down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of humble estate; 53 he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty.
Ex: Apple, Amazon, Uber
Spiritually — with the gospel — see the parable of the rich young ruler.
But also physically and politically....
hungry people will reign in his kingdom.
governments will be toppled
Isaiah 2:4 ESV
4 He shall judge between the nations, and shall decide disputes for many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.

(3) He is Proving that God Keeps His Promises

Luke 1:54–55 ESV
54 He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy, 55 as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his offspring forever.”
God made a promise to a man named Abraham. Jesus being born those several years ago is proof to us no matter what we are facing that no matter how long it takes God keeps his promiss.
He is elevating your status, He is Disrupting this Unbalanced World. He is proof that God keeps his promises. We have much to magnify him about.
The old songwriter would
Go, tell it on the mountain Over the hills and everywhere Go, tell it on the mountain That Jesus Christ is born
