Why?
Believe The Miracles
INTRO: Story of a miracle today that's often disputed.
In Jesus's time the gospels record people asking "show us a sign...another miracle."
You would think everyone would believe if they saw a miracle especially if Jesus did it. But they didn't.
What about us? Would we be any different?
Scripture -
The Miracles - Those things that God allows but man can't understand. Why can't we understand?
Explanations - Everything has to be explained in a logical way for us. Scriptures...
The logic of man destroys belief in God.
Associates - The opinions of our friends often outweigh our belief in God. Scriptures...
We must watch our associations. No one comes before God...No one comes between you and God.
The Miracle (receiver) - Those who receive the mercy and grace from God. Why can't we believe them?
Reputation - ILLUS of those we can't believe...but those were the people Jesus healed.
We can accept the miracle if it is something we can verify. We put ourselves in God's place.
Popularity - The spotlight of popularity enhances our ability to believe. But Jesus chooses people who are unknown...then tells them not to tell anyone.
God is not concerned about the reputation - He builds a reputation.
God is not concerned about popularity - He chooses the weak to confused the strong; the unlearned to confused the wise:
God can take a farmer and make a prophet
God can make a shepherd boy a king
God can turn an adulterous woman from Samaria into an Evangelist
He doesn't care about popularity, He's concerned with His purpose.
The Miracle Worker - That's Jesus. Perhaps the real problem is Jesus.
Why should we believe in Jesus? Scriptures...
If you can't believe His Word, LOOK AT ME...I AM A MIRACLE AN
He is the King of King, Lord of Lords, the Almighty Sovereign, The First and the Last, The Author and Finisher, Angels bow before Him, Heaven and earth adores Him...
