Psalm 119:33-56
“Teach me, O Lord, to follow your decrees then I will keep it to the end.”
Give me understanding, and I will keep your law and obey it with my whole heart.
Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight.
Turn my heart to your statutes, and not toward selfish gain!
Turn my eyes away from worthless things; and preserve my life according to your word.
Fulfill your promise to your servant so that you may be feared.
Take away the reproach that I dread, for your laws are good.
How, I long for your precepts!
Preserve my life in your righteousness.
May your unfailing love come to me, O Lord, your salvation according to your promise;
Then I will answer the one who taunts me, for I trust in your word.
Do not snatch the word of truth from my mouth, for I have put my hope in your laws.
I will always obey your law, forever and ever,
I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.
I will speak of your statutes before kings and shall not be put to shame.
for I delight in your commands, because I love them.
I will lift up my hands to your commandment, which I love, and I will meditate on your decrees.
Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope.
My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.
The arrogant mock me without restraint, but I do not turn rom your law.
I remember your ancient laws, O Lord, and I find comfort in them.
Indignation grips me because of the wicked, who have forsaken your law.
Your decrees are the theme of my song wherever I lodge.
In the night, I remember your name O Lord, and I will keep your law.
This has been my practice, I obey your precepts.
*LET US PRAY
Prayer of Confession and Repentance
Grant, Almighty God, that, since you have until now so kindly invited us to yourself, and daily invite us,
and often interpose also your threatenings to rouse our inattention,
and since we have been inattentive to your reproofs,
as well as to your Kindness to us your children
Help us to not proceed in our wickedness, and thus provoke the vengeance that we deserve
Help us to anticipate your wrath by true repentance,
and be humbled under your hand,
even by your Word,
that you may receive us into favor,
and nourish us and continue to draw us unto yourself,
through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Assurance of Pardon……………...……..……………...….. Hebrews 9:11-14 “But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things that have come, then through the greater and more perfect tent (not made with hands, that is, not of this creation) he entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption.
For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.”

LET US PRAY
Congregational Prayer
Lord, teach us to be resigned to your will; teach us to delight in your law;
teach us to have no will but your will; teach us to be sure that everything you do is good
and is the very best that can be done.
Help us to leave our concerns in your divine hands, being persuaded that you have sway even over evil; that out of it you bring good,
till your high purposes shall develop in your own perfect glory,
and in the perfect bliss of all those who put their trust in you.
Father we Pray for _____________ and we ask for all these things in the powerful, glorious, majestic, and wonderful name of Jesus Christ Amen.

OLD Testament Reading Joshua 7:1-26
TURN IN YOUR COPY OF GODS WORD TO Joshua 7:1-26
Joshua 7:1–26 (ESV)
But the people of Israel broke faith in regard to the devoted things, for Achan the son of Carmi, son of Zabdi, son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took some of the devoted things.
And the anger of the Lord burned against the people of Israel.
Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is near Beth-aven, east of Bethel, and said to them, “Go up and spy out the land.”
And the men went up and spied out Ai.
And they returned to Joshua and said to him, “Do not have all the people go up, but let about two or three thousand men go up and attack Ai.
Do not make the whole people toil up there, for they are few.”
So about three thousand men went up there from the people.
And they fled before the men of Ai, and the men of Ai killed about thirty-six of their men and chased them before the gate as far as Shebarim and struck them at the descent.
And the hearts of the people melted and became as water.
Then Joshua tore his clothes and fell to the earth on his face before the ark of the Lord until the evening, he and the elders of Israel.
And they put dust on their heads.
And Joshua said, “Alas, O Lord God, why have you brought this people over the Jordan at all, to give us into the hands of the Amorites, to destroy us?
Would that we had been content to dwell beyond the Jordan!
O Lord, what can I say, when Israel has turned their backs before their enemies!
For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land will hear of it and will surround us and cut off our name from the earth.
And what will you do for your great name?”
The Lord said to Joshua, “Get up!
Why have you fallen on your face?
Israel has sinned; they have transgressed my covenant that I commanded them; they have taken some of the devoted things; they have stolen and lied and put them among their own belongings.
Therefore the people of Israel cannot stand before their enemies.
They turn their backs before their enemies, because they have become devoted for destruction.
