John 4:46-53

God Is With You

INTRO: Mama T’s death was a CRISIS; Rochelle was with me.

In CRISIS it means something to know you’re not alone.

In Jesus’ time the people faced many CRISES.

The people looked for a sign or a wonder.

Sign = visible event intended as proof of something else; evidence by sight.

Wonder = a remarkable event

You would think everyone would believe in Jesus, especially if they saw a miracle. But they didn't.

What about you? WE SEE MIRACLES EVERYDAY...Do You believe GOD IS WITH YOU?

GOD IS WITH YOU is a result of Your Faith in Him. Let’s learn why.

SINCE GOD IS WITH YOU HE CREATES OPPORTUNITIES - 46-47

Jesus returns to a place where He had performed a miracle. (Water to wine).

CERTAIN Royal official’s son is dying.

What an OPPORTUNITY to Jesus.

There is NO COINCIDENCE in you life.

All things are by God’s Design…for you to turn to Him.

The OPPORTUNITY God Creates is not to harm you, but to prove to YOU that God is with you.

PRO 3:5-6-Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

SINCE GOD IS WITH YOU HE CONDEMNS OPPOSITION - 48-49

The official asked Jesus to COME…heal his son.

Jesus responded “Unless you SEE…you will never believe.”

Seems harsh. Former miracle done without public knowledge.

Logical that this dire situation would require Jesus to SUBMIT to the request.

That’s the first problem - Jesus doesn’t SUBMIT to our request…We are to SUBMIT to His will.

2nd Problem - Using logic. The logic of man destroys belief in God.

Associates - The words of our friends often outweigh the word of God.

We must watch our associations. Since God is With You, You MUST not insult HIm.

Sometimes we insult God with our OPPOSITION.

That’s when He speaks sharply to us. REBUKE!

You have to believe that He is With You and never doubt that.

SINCE GOD IS WITH YOU HE CONSTRUCTS ORDER- 50 -53

Jesus told the official “You Go! Your son will live.”

Jesus commanded Him in a crisis to BELIEVE.

Here’s the Order

You Go believing with hope. He’s With You.

In your going God Confirms (HE’S WITH YOU); servants met him with good news. Lifted his spirit.

You realize that God was working while you were WALKING. He’s With You.

EVERYONE in your household believes.

Your household believes because GOD IS WITH YOU. That’s Faith!

CLOSE: Yes! God Is With You!

Like He was with SARAH…GOD IS WITH YOU!

Like He was with HANNAH…GOD IS WITH YOU!

Like He was with DANIEL…GOD IS WITH YOU!

DAVID asks a question…Who is this King of glory?

The Lord strong and mighty…Mighty in battle.

He is the King of King, Lord of Lords, the Almighty Sovereign,

The First and the Last, The Author and Finisher,

Angels bow before Him, Heaven and earth adores Him...

And this Great God IS WITH YOU!
