In Chapter Three Studying that Sin is lawlessness
In Chapter Three Studying that Sin is lawlessness
Have a proper definition of what sin is, 1 John 3:4
Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.
Sin and a trespass are different, Ephesians 2:1
And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,
Sin is an action, not in the mind
What comes out of the mouth defiles, Matthew 15:18
But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man.
Sin is exterior to the body, 1 Corinthians 6:18
Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.
When we abide in Christ, we do not habitually sin , 1 John 3:6
Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.
The one continuing to sin does not discern Him or experientially know Him, 1 John 3:6
Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.
Our actions Matter
Our actions Matter
The one doing righteousness 1 John 3:7
Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.
The one out from the Devil, 1 John 3:8
He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
The love for the brethren, 1 John 3:10
In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.
The indifference of the world should now surprise us, 1 John 3:13
The indifference of the world should now surprise us, 1 John 3:13
Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you.
Testing the spirits, 1 John 4:1
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
Those who say Jesus has not come in the flesh
These are the antichrist, 1 John 4:3
and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.
We have overcome the world, 1 John 4:4
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
We love because God loved us
We love because God loved us
Love is out from God, 1 John 4:7
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
We see the love of God through our love for each other, 1 John 4:12
No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.
We experientially know this because of the Spirit He gave us, 1 John 4:13
By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.
We love God by loving the brethren, 1 John 4:20
If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
Asking for Ourselves, 1 John 5:14
Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
When He hears us we know we will receive what we asked
Asking concerning the sins of others, 1 John 5:16
If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin which does not lead to death, he will ask, and He will give him life for those who commit sin not leading to death. There is sin leading to death. I do not say that he should pray about that.
We intuitively know that the Son of God has come
We intuitively know that the Son of God has come
He has given to us a working of the mind so we can understand, 1 John 5:20
And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
Experientially knowing the truth, 1 John 5:20
And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
Guard yourselves from idols, 1 John 5:21
Guard yourselves from idols, 1 John 5:21
Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

Walking in the Truth, 2 John 1-4
Walking in the Truth, 2 John 1-4
The Elder,
To the elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth, and not only I, but also all those who have known the truth, because of the truth which abides in us and will be with us forever:
Grace, mercy, and peace will be with you from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
I rejoiced greatly that I have found some of your children walking in truth, as we received a commandment from the Father.
The Doctrine of The Christ, 2 John 9
The Doctrine of The Christ, 2 John 9
Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.
Rejecting Those who Teach a Different Doctrine, 2 John 1:10-11
Rejecting Those who Teach a Different Doctrine, 2 John 1:10-11
If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.

Doing what is faithful, 3 John 5
Doing what is faithful, 3 John 5
Beloved, you do faithfully whatever you do for the brethren and for strangers,
The ones going out according to the name, 3 John 7
The ones going out according to the name, 3 John 7
because they went forth for His name’s sake, taking nothing from the Gentiles.
The one not accepting the saints from other assemblies, 3 John 10
The one not accepting the saints from other assemblies, 3 John 10
Therefore, if I come, I will call to mind his deeds which he does, prating against us with malicious words. And not content with that, he himself does not receive the brethren, and forbids those who wish to, putting them out of the church.
Do not imitate wrong, 3 John 11
Do not imitate wrong, 3 John 11
Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, but he who does evil has not seen God.
