Mine is early in the morning, just before
daylight…so calm, peaceful most don’t know I am up so early, so my phone isn’t ringing yet.
The dawning sun promises an excellent day.No noise, no rushing, no rage
Wait, there is off in the distance of time that promises a horrible day.
How many of you enjoying the early morning calm, and you punch in the code for the alarm?
You have punched one number wrong…a pounding on the door startles you, and you open the door to a pouch full of swat teams for the number they got was silent and told them you were under hostage situation.
They demand you sit outside and the other team members move their rifles ever so slightly, and you think you’re going to die.
How do you make it through the chaos of the day?
If you knew better, you have gone home and pulled the covers over your head…for it is only the beginning of your day.
Headline 2 how did Jesus face such a day.
Jesus stood in the quietness of that morning, and I believe he didn’t know what his day would produce.
How did Jesus face this day of complete chaos?
What did Jesus know that helped Him face that place of morning chaos and went right on facing the blunt force that threatened to knock him down.
What possibility held Him all together as the chaos threatened to push him into the sea of Galilee.
The next 24 hours was the most stressful day besides being killed.
How did Jesus face the chaos of the day through the total opposite of how we would face the day.
There is only one way to find that out, by watching how God faced this day of stress.
LET’S TAKE A LOOK AT OUR GOD AS HE FACES THE DAY OF CHAOS.
FIRST: NEVER, NEVER, NEVER FORGET JESUS KNOWS HOW YOU FEEL!
JESUS DOES CARE ABOUT YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES
YOU MAY BE THINKING, HOW WOULD GOD KNOW HOW WE FEEL?
LET'S LOOK AT HOW GOD FACED HIS CHAOTIC DAY
I CAN SEE JESUS FACING THE DAY OF PEACEFUL POSSIBILITIES THINKING THIS IS MY FATHER’S WORLD...AND....SOME OF HIS DISCIPLES REPORT TO HIM THE ONE WHO KNEW HIM THE BEST ONE WHOM THEY PRACTICALLY GREW UP TOGETHER...
IS NOW DEAD BRUTALLY MURDERED.
THIS WOULD BE LIKE A BODY PUNCH (BOXING) TAKING AWAY HIS BREATH!
BEFORE OUR GOD HAD A CHANCE TO BREATHE ANOTHER REPORT, HERODIAS WAS NOW GUNNING FOR HIM!
THE GRIEF GOD FELT THAT MOMENT WAS BRUTAL, FOR JOHN WAS KILLED FOR PREACHING THE TRUTH!
THE DAY BEFORE, JESUS HAD SENT OUT THE OTHER DISCIPLES TO MINISTER TO OTHERS, AND THEY BEGAN TO REPORT: JAMES TELLS OF A LAME MAN THAT WAS HEALED, JOHN TELLS OF THE CROWDS OF PEOPLE WHO CAME TO HEAR THE GOOD NEWS.
ANDREW TALKS OF THE EPILEPTIC WHO WAS HEALED.
JAMES TELLS OF THE CROWDS WHO COULDN'T GET ENOUGH OF HEARING ABOUT JESUS.
MATTHEW RECOUNTS THE BLIND WOMAN WHO WAS HEALED.
NOW IT IS LATE IN THE DAY, AND THE DISCIPLES SAY SEND THEM AWAY IT’S WAY PAST SUPPERTIME
JESUS SAYS LET'S HAVE THEM SET DOWN, AND YOU BOYS GATHER UP ALL THE FOOD WE HAVE ON HAND
AND THAT TURNED OUT TO BE A COUPLE OF FISH AND 5 LOAVES OF BREAD.
ON THIS CHAOTIC DAY, JESUS WAS HOSPITABLE TO THE PEOPLE WHO HAD NOTHING.
JESUS DECIDES IT HAD BEEN A LONG DAY TELLS HIS DISCIPLES TO GET INTO A BOAT AND GO THE THE OTHER SIDE.
AND HE-HE SENT ALL THE CROWDS AWAY.
IN HIS CHAOTIC DAY, JESUS HIMSELF SENT THE PEOPLE HOME.
Jesus now is able to get away to Himself finally to pray, grieve, and rest.
but as they say no rest for the weary for Jesus “sees” His disciples in the boat in the middle of a pretty heavy storm.
Now Jesus must walk out to the disciples and it was not an easy stroll for He is walking against the wind and the waves to get to the boat.
what I think is ironic here is when Jesus arrived they thought He was a ghost which is almost likely they have never saw and
So Jesus has to reassure them that he was the Lord and even though they had spent some time with Jesus by now Peter has to test if this was Jesus and he says hey guys I the Lord don’t be afraid.
Peter says if that is true ask me to walk out to you…Jesus says come!
What is interesting is that the closer Peter got to Jesus it seems the higher the waves got and his faith began to falter.
Jesus leads Peter to the boat and both climb in and the storm became silent.
Then the disciples finally understood they stood in the presence of God.
Now just a reminder Jesus knows how we feel.

It is late and the boat makes to the other side.
Now all is done and Jesus who is weary to His bones can rest…not!
The crowd had walked abound the tip and were waiting for Jesus.
If you were bone-tired, emotionally crushed until all you wanted was some time around the campfire and sleep...
it didn’t take long for those at Gennesaret who were now on their shores.
