Here we find the EVENTS of that day:
I. The Coming of an Example. v.1
I. The Coming of an Example. v.1
1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.
Accordingly what happens next shows what happens later.
We endeavor to believe, read, study, and practice only what the Bible says.
Here we find the EVENTS of that day:
I. The Coming of an Example. v.1
II. The Coming of Excellence. vs.2-10
II. The Coming of Excellence. vs.2-10
This is a picture of the rapture. v.2
2 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
3 And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
We will know as we are known. vs.4-8
4 And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.
5 And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
1 Corinthians 13:12
6 For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid.
7 And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
2 Peter 1:17–21 (AV)
For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.
We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
All our problems will be over.
8 And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves.
1 Corinthians 15:57
9 And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead.
10 And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean.
Any health issues will be gone.
1 Corinthians 15:52-53
Age will cease to exist.
Mark 16:1-5
We will reunite with our loved ones. We shall see Jesus!
Here we find the EVENTS of that day:
I. The Coming of an Example. v.1
II. The Coming of Excellence. vs.2-10
III. The Coming of Elias. vs.11-13
III. The Coming of Elias. vs.11-13
11 And they asked him, saying, Why say the scribes that Elias must first come?
12 And he answered and told them, Elias verily cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at nought.
13 But I say unto you, That Elias is indeed come, and they have done unto him whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him.
Matthew 17:13
Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.
Then understood - Matthew 17:13; 16:12; John 12:16
Watch the timeline:
Elijah shows up. Jesus shows up.
In the tribulation Elijah shows up. Then Jesus shows up.
Conclusion:
Are you ready for the Lord’s return.
Did you know that the events of their day are repeating as the events of that day?
