Opening Story

Are you excited for the new year?
How many goals or resolutions?

Question

How do we struggle with this?
We do this every year! We get so excited. We are ready to lose 500 pounds, we are ready to get that new job, car, house, boyfriend.
We are going to read our Bible everyday. We are going to pray everyday. We are going to serve in the church. We are going to give more than we ever have. We are going to change the world for God!
We are pumped and we are running into the new year and boom, something old, something familiar, something comfortable catches our eye and just one time won’t hurt. and Boom.
Could be something like this.
human trafficking
pornography
suicide

Text

What does the Bible say about this?
Revelation 13:17 CSB
17 so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark: the beast’s name or the number of its name.
I don’t think the covid vaccine is the mark of the beast but I do believe we are being conditioned.
This is not doom and gloom, I am so excited for the Lord to use us and shine through us.
Matthew 5:14–16 CSB
14 “You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.

Application

What should you do about this?
We are not going to allow this year to be like last, or the one before it.
We are going to plug into the source, we are going to shine, and we are going to allow men to see our good works and give glory to GOD!

Challenge

How can we all live this out together?
