Paul as a SERVANT of Jesus was SEPARATED for the SAKE of the Gospel of God
Paul as a SERVANT of Jesus was SEPARATED for the SAKE of the Gospel of God
Romans 1:1–2 (ESV)
1 Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God,
2 which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy Scriptures,
Paul - Now Using His Gentile Name
Bondservant of ONE - Jesus Christ
Called (always SERVICE RELATED) an Apostle
Separated (remove one party from all other parties to discourage or eliminate contact…) TOWARD the Gospel of God
Challenge: One Take-away is that since Paul was Separated by God, Called an Apostle, who voluntarily chose himself a bondservant to ONE - that is our LORD Jesus Christ - We should probably take his teaching on Salvation Seriously
Paul STATES Core Elements of the Gospel of God
Paul STATES Core Elements of the Gospel of God
3 concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh,
4 and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.
Previously Promised - through His Prophets in the Holy Scriptures
Physically Present - Jesus was not an apparition, nor mere imagination, and was not simply the “spirit of God fallen on a special man”
Perfectly Powerful - Son of God in Power - BY HIS RESURRECTION FROM THE DEAD
Challenge: Notice How Paul Passionately Presents Him to us, JESUS (Yeshua, savior) CHRIST (messiah, deliverer) our LORD (God of Creation, God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, The I AM who called Moses) How will you and I respond to This Passionate Presentation of our Lord and Savior?

Romans 1:5–7 (NKJV)
5 Through Him we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for His name,
6 among whom you also are the called of Jesus Christ;
7 To all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Purpose of Grace and Position (Apostleship) = Bring Obedience [born] of Faith among the Nations
Scope - Gospel declared to the NATIONS - Thus ALL PEOPLES WITHOUT EXCLUSION
Outcome - “invited of Jesus” and “invited Holy Ones [i.e. saints]”
