Sermon Series: Good Intentions
An intention is an idea or plan of what you are going to do.
As we start of the new year we are all full of ideas and plans to make this year better than last year.
A New Year's resolution is a tradition, most common in the Western World, in which a person resolves to continue good practices, change an undesired trait or behavior, accomplish a personal goal, or otherwise improve their life at the start of a new year.
A resent poll of over 2,000 American’s showed that most New Year’s resolutions are given up buy Feb 1st. Depressing right. But normally true.
What if I told you there is one goal, one resolution, that if you fight for it, and do everything humanly possible to keep this one, it will help make all the other not as important goals and resolutions fall into place.
The Russian proverb “If you chase two rabbits, you will not catch either one
Let’s stop fighting it! So what if we just pick one and be done. Just one!
This one New Years Resolution is going to cause a Revolution in you!
Wait did you say this one resolution will help me with all my other resolutions?
Finances? Yes. Will it help me with my anxiety? Yes. Will help me in my relationships. Yes. What… will it help me with losing weight? It does!
I promise you as your pastor I am not sell the snake oil from yesterday.
It is not a pill, and it is not some kind of self-help strategy. This one thing will give you the best year of your life even if everything else is falling apart. Who wants this?

Love: We through around the word “love”. Are there degrees of love?
I love these shoes vs. I love my kids. Not the same love.
I love carna asada taco’s vs. I love my wife. - They are the same. JK
What makes something worthy of our love? Trust? Worthiness?
Why do we love Him? Because He first loved us.

How did the Lord love us? By laying down His life for us.

I can remember singing those lyrics in church without thinking about them. They came off my tongue so effortlessly. But did I mean them?
What would happen if every day of 2022 we put all our heart, soul, mind, and strength?
When is the last time you prayed to God help me love you more?
