I. Are You In Rebellion?

A. God Told Adam to Not Eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
B. God Said the Day That You Eat of It, You Will Surely Die.
Genesis 2:16-17 “16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”
C. Eve and Adam Rebelled by Listening to the Serpent, Satan, and Eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
Genesis 3:1-6 “1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.”
D. God Told the Serpent, Eve, That They Would Cursed for Breaking His Command Not to Eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
Genesis 3:13-17 “13 And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. 14 And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: 15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. 16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. 17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;”
II. The Israelites Were Rebellious.
A. When the Israelites were in the Wilderness the Rebelled Against God.
Deuteronomy 9:7 “7 Remember, and forget not, how thou provokedst the Lord thy God to wrath in the wilderness: from the day that thou didst depart out of the land of Egypt, until ye came unto this place, ye have been rebellious against the Lord.”
B. Let Not a Rebellious Nation Exalt Themselves, Because God Sees and His Power is Forever.
Psalm 66:7 “7 He ruleth by his power for ever; His eyes behold the nations: Let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah.”
C. God Deliveries the Solitary in Families from Bondage and Chains, But the Rebellious Will Dwell in Dry Land.
Psalm 68:6 “6 God setteth the solitary in families: He bringeth out those which are bound with chains: But the rebellious dwell in a dry land.”
D. God Told the Israelites to Not BE As Their Stubborn and Rebellious Fathers, Because They Set Not Their Heart’s Aright and Their Spirits Were Not Steadfast with God.
Psalm 78:8 “8 And might not be as their fathers, A stubborn and rebellious generation; A generation that set not their heart aright, And whose spirit was not stedfast with God.”
III. John the Baptist Told the Pharisees and Sadducees to Bring Forth Therefore Fruits. Meet for Repentance.
A. Why Did John the Baptist Tell Them Is?
B. Because They Were Rebellious in Following God’s Commandment by the Approximately 400 Traditions that They Followed to Make It Okay to Break God’s Commandments.
C. Are You Making Excuses, So that You Do Not Have to Keep God’s and Jesus’ Commandments?
Matthew 3:1-8 “1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, 2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. 3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. 4 And the same John had his raiment of camel’s hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey. 5 Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan, 6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins. 7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:”
IV. If People Today Where Alive During the Plague in Number Chapter 16, Would They Have Told Moses and Aaron that They Could Cross the Division that Aaron Made Between the Dying and the Living.
A. The Lord Told Moses to Tell Eleazar the Son Aaron to Take up a Censer.
Number 16:36-40 “36 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 37 Speak unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and scatter thou the fire yonder; for they are hallowed. 38 The censers of these sinners against their own souls, let them make them broad plates for a covering of the altar: for they offered them before the Lord, therefore they are hallowed: and they shall be a sign unto the children of Israel. 39 And Eleazar the priest took the brasen censers, wherewith they that were burnt had offered; and they were made broad plates for a covering of the altar: 40 To be a memorial unto the children of Israel, that no stranger, which is not of the seed of Aaron, come near to offer incense before the Lord; that he be not as Korah, and as his company: as the Lord said to him by the hand of Moses.”
Numbers 16:46-50 “46 And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a censer, and put fire therein from off the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly unto the congregation, and make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the Lord; the plague is begun. 47 And Aaron took as Moses commanded, and ran into the midst of the congregation; and, behold, the plague was begun among the people: and he put on incense, and made an atonement for the people. 48 And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed. 49 Now they that died in the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, beside them that died about the matter of Korah. 50 And Aaron returned unto Moses unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and the plague was stayed.”
