MAIN THOUGHTS:
If God already knows what I’m going to ask, why do I need to pray?
Great relationships have great communication.
Your prayer life is something that is mostly going to be between you and him.
There are times to pray with people and over people and those times will build your faith as well, but the majority of your prayer life is behind the scenes.
God has given you through prayer:
ACCESS
Prayer gives you direct access to God himself and he promises he would listen and answer!
“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
You don’t have to go to someone else, you have direct access to God himself and talk with him. You also have access to eternal resources
AUTHORITY
When you pray in the name of Jesus, There is power in his name and when you use it you are invoking the name of Jesus over that and bringing in his power to that situation.
Matthew 28:18 (right before the great commission)
Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.
The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.
When you pray, you are partnering with God the Father to see His will in your life!
ANOINTING
As surely as God is faithful, our word to you does not waver between “Yes” and “No.” For Jesus Christ, the Son of God, does not waver between “Yes” and “No.” He is the one whom Silas, Timothy, and I preached to you, and as God’s ultimate “Yes,” he always does what he says. For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.
It is God who enables us, along with you, to stand firm for Christ. He has commissioned us, and he has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything he has promised us.
The anointing is what impacts others. This is something everyone can notice. They may not have words for it but they know something is up.
You can’t fake, buy or microwave this process.
Your access to God is what leads to authority and walking in that authority is what brings the anointing
One easy tip to never stop praying? Don’t say amen!
What are you praying for this year?
There is something powerful about praying together!
We are fasting and praying (one day a week total fast, one meal a day.) We spend time praying and listening.
Fasting isn’t about getting God’s attention, its about giving Him your attention!
PRAY FOR:
-Jobs, Marriages, finances, ministry, church building, greater influence, Kids...
