God Rested
God Rested
Heb.4:3,4
Gen.1:1
Gen.2:1-3
God is not still creating He created and put life in everything He created to keep creating, but He is at rest Gen.8:22
He is the Sustainer of the universe Col.1:16-17
We can understand the concept easier if we understand that God created time and He in not bound by the limitations of time. He dwells in the eternal realm. The realm where it is always now. He is the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
The answer to our prayers is not just a matter of time. Its a matter of faith! Now faith is… Heb.11:1-3
Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”
We have to believe that we already have what we ask for
John 15:7 “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.”
John 16:24 “Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”
James 1:5-8 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”
Faith connects us to what God has already provided
Part of what was finished in John 19:30 was our trying to get God to do for us or us trying to earn points with Him. The work of redemption was finished and every promise that Jesus spoke was fully available to every believer. Now we just believe and receive what has already been provided.
Before time began...
1. We have purpose and grace in Christ
2Tim.1:8-10 “Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,”
2. We have eternal life promised to us
Titus 1:2,3 Eternal life refers both to a new quality of life in this world and the continuation of that Christian life after. It is a present truth yet many aspects unrealized yet.
3. We have been chosen for salvation
2Thess.2:13,14 “to which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
