FOCUS
When it comes to success as a Christ-follower, a primary key to succeeding is keeping your eyes on the Christ you’re following :-) … while “follow the leader” is a game kids used to play a lot, following The Leader isn’t a game, but a battle.
It’s a decision we each must continue to make.
It actually is a matter of life or death.
Today we’re going to hear & hopefully heed the call from God to be sure we’re “keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith” (Hebrews 12:2 NET).
As we do, by God’s grace, we will grow in confidence & consistency / delight & discipline / peace & power / influence & impact as it pertains to our walk with Him.
Let’s know & show the blessings that come from keeping our eyes on Jesus.
Keeping our eyes on Jesus …
1. involves the eyes in our head & the eyes of our heart.
The eyes in our head see Him in scripture.
The eyes of our heart see Him in spirit.
Hebrews 12:1-2 & Ephesians 1:18 (especially in the context of vs15-19)
2. delivers us from being led or distracted by anyone or anything else.
What or who we fix our eyes on eventually gets an all access pass to our mind & heart.
Genesis 3:1-7 / Colossians 1:15-23 / 2 Timothy 4:9-10 / 1 John 2:15-17 / Psalm 101:3
Making It Real

2] Which one of the five passages listed here speaks most clearly to you today?
Action Step
Memorize Hebrews 12:1-2 and/or 1 John 2:15-17.
