New Year new you?

“Every new year is an uncharted and unknown sea. No ship has ever sailed this way before.”
Nai’s message. God calling to Adam, “Where are you?”
I think that as we start 2022 the same question is asked of each of us.
Where are you?
It’s not a question full of bitterness and anger.
It’s not a question full of guilt and manipulation.
It’s not a question that has a hidden agenda.
It’s a straight forward and honest question. Where are you?
Adam responds out of shame and fear. Then he blames God and blames Eve for why he is not where he should be.
Perhaps we will as well. Shame and fear is not what God wants though. He certainly doesn’t want us to blame Him or others for our own failings.
He wants intimacy. He wants honesty.
Are you willing to give that to him today as we embark on the uncharted seas of 2022?
Proverbs 29:18 “Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; But happy is he who keeps the law.”
Revelation in the Greek: Divine communication through prophecy, dream, oracle or vision.
So let’s see if we can’t set a course that might lead us to the destination we need to go rather than just sailing aimlessly into 2022.
Answer God’s question honestly and openly. Where are you? Are you in the garden of intimacy with Him soaking in His presence and enjoying the sweetness of His love for you?
Are you maybe not where you want to be, but moving in the right direction?
Are you stagnating and stuck. Floating aimlessly…unsure of how to change things.
Are you putting on a good front, but ultimately refusing to admit where you really are?
Are you far from home, whether by chasing the things of this world or by listening to the lies of the enemy…or both?
2. Prayer (divine communication). Prayer vigil.
My time praying during the prayer vigil. Intense and intentional.
Received my verse for the year 10 minutes before we ended. It was exactly what I needed to hear!
Holy Spirit told me to share this today. Strengthen your prayer life…strengthen your life.
We MUST have intentional, intimate, intense and divine conversations with God this year!
Philippians 4:6 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;”
Matthew 6:6 “But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.”
Jeremiah 33:3 “‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’”
3. Purpose
Many of our struggles are because we aren’t living in the purposes of God’s Kingdom. Purposes that He created us for.
1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;”
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
1 Peter 4:10 “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”
We need to use our gifts this year more than we ever have!
4. Be Determined
Don’t give up! Don’t let up! Don’t back down! Don’t stop pressing in! Hold on to the Lord and refuse to let go regardless of what is going on around you!
Be determined to stop relying on yourself!
Be determined to wake up and put your armor on! It’s a war every single day! Satan doesn’t take holidays off. He doesn’t have sick days! Our battle won’t end until Jesus comes back! So be determined to fight! This day we fight!
5. Serve
If we would spend time serving, blessing and ministering to others we wouldn’t focus on our own problems as much. You say, “I’m too busy.” Bologna!
You have time to serve those at work. You have time to text someone to check on them. You have time to minister to your family and friends. We just need the mindset to do it!
Saying I’m too busy or too tired is keeping you a drift and keeping you from the blessings of the Kingdom!
Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Philippians 2:4 “Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.”
Matthew 20:27-28 “And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.””
6. Humble ourselves.
Pride and stubborness are still stirring up trouble in our church.
We have to hate it. We have to hunt it down and nail it to the cross.
Pride is the main barrier to intimacy.
Hosea 7:10 “And the pride of Israel testifies to his face, But they do not return to the Lord their God, Nor seek Him for all this.”
7. Worship
“Whatever interferes with one’s personal worship of God needs to be properly dealt with.” Tozer
Your primary purpose here on earth is to worship God and bring Him glory.
Think about that for a moment.
There is no higher calling than to worship God with all of your being.
“Worship is to feel in the heart.”
Thanksgiving
Praise
Adoration
Joy
Will you worship me in captivity?
