2022 Vision Video:

Hey Team,
I thought it’d be easier to do a quick video than to type out everything. Originally, I planned on sharing this at our Leadership Development Training, but since that got pushed, I’ll do it now.
First off, thank you for prayers as we seek God for His vision for TRC in 2022. Additionally, thank you for the conversations and messages surrounding this subject. I truly value what you have to say and believe the Holy Spirit speaks thru us as a team to confirm His direction for our church.
Well, as you know, it’s been impressed on my heart to focus on Jesus. Sounds weird because that’s what we’re always supposed to do. But I have no other way to put it. And whenever I try to be “cute” with coming up with thematic phrases, the Holy Spirit warns me...
“Don’t be cute. Preach Christ.”
That being said, if I could expand on what I’m thinking when I say, “Jesus,” it’s that my hope is our community would intentionally set our eyes upon Jesus, whether thru sermons, service, discipleship, Life Groups, or every day conversations.
That we’d be like Mary, who sat at the feet of Jesus, and knew “… one thing is necessary.” (Luke 10:42).
That we’d have the heart of David who said, “One thing… will I seek after: that I may well in the house of the LORD [and] …gaze upon the beauty of the LORD.” (Ps 27:4)
That we’d experience what they saw on the Mount of Transfiguration, seeing the manifest glory of Jesus!
The Great Commandment says, “You shall love the LORD (Jesus) your God all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind!” I want us doing that beyond the shadow of a doubt!
That’s what I mean when I saw our 2022 Vision is JESUS. As I’ve heard Anpu say more than a few times, “I think it’s time. People are ready.” Or as she has recently phrased it, “There is an open door!” I believe that open door is leading us (and more people) to Jesus.
Mark 4 talks about the Kingdom of God as a process. It takes time for the harvest to come. And after 6 years, it might be time for us to experience a harvest. Jesus Himself said, “The harvest IS great,” not, “might be great.” It IS!
It’s time for, as Jackie has heard, “for us to humble ourselves,” so we can experience and focus on Jesus. It’s time for, as Connie shared, for the people of Glastonbury to have their relationship with their Creator “restored.”
And the best thing I believe we can do, this year as a church, is to intentionally focus on Jesus. To help people understand:
Who He is.
Why He died and rose again. And what that means for them.
What kind of life is He calling us to.
Why does He love us?
And Why He is worthy of us surrendering and sacrificing our entire life to Him.
I’ll expand on this on Vision Sunday. But that’s my heart for 2022. As best as I can explain it now, that’s where I believe God is taking us. That at the end of the year, people would confidently say...
I met Jesus this year.
I love Jesus more.
I’m ready to do whatever Jesus asks of me.
Keep praying with me. That we’d continue to live by faith in the Son of God. That we’d be flexible to His leading and willing to take BIG RISKS for His glory. More than anything, that we’d be FAITHFUL TO JESUS.
Talk to you guys soon.
