Grace for Grace
Grace for Grace
John 1:14-18 “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’ ” And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.”
Gods was gracious to Moses . Ex 33:12 “Then Moses said to the Lord, “See, You say to me, ‘Bring up this people.’ But You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have also found grace in My sight.’”
How do we know if we know if I have found grace in the sight of The Lord ?
Ex 33:13 “Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people.””
Jesus said I know longer call you servants but I call you friends .
Why are we Christ friends because He reveals to us His secrets .
Deuteronomy 29:29 ““The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.”
In verse 14 it speaks about seeing the Word that became flesh and dwelt among us .
But in vs 16 it speaks about receiving Christ .
It goes from perception to experience .
Goes from perceiving to receiving .
Grace in place of grace comes to Christians as waves placed upon the shore .
Ever fresh grace according to our need .
