Introduction
God blesses us so we should bless Him, but how can WE bless GOD?
How can we bless God?
How can we bless God?
We should spend time viewing God by who He really is
We should spend time viewing God by who He really is
God is the ruler over all, and He chooses to bless us through His Son Jesus.
God blesses us with material AND spiritual things. True appreciation of the things we see is dependent on our enjoyment of the things of the Spirit.
Paul says that God blessed us in Christ with every SPIRITUAL blessing in the heavenly places. Many times we forget that the SPIRITUAL is wayyyyy more important than the physical. Though our bodies may wither away with time God is renewing our spirit day by day. The outer may waste away but the inner spiritual continues to grow everyday.
God didn’t have to do what He did for us, but He did it because He is a gracious God. God gives us gifts that are better than the physical, which puts the physical blessings in right perspective and right relation to those things that God gives spiritually. This verse didn’t say “God gives us what we want” or “God gives us everything on our Christmas list” or “God gives us a million dollars”. But if we know and understand that God knows best and gives the BEST gifts that means that these things don’t compare to what God gives in the heavenly places or in the spiritual sense. That means that the peace of God, the mercy of God, the grace of God, the holiness of God, the righteousness of God, the wisdom of God, that He gives to us is leaps and bounds above and beyond what God could give us in the physical…not that He doesn’t bless us with different physical things that we need and He does give those gifts right on time for us to realize and understand who gives them.

Verse four says that we are chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world.
God chose us before He created us. God loved us so much that before he made us, before Adam and Eve sinned, before we were ever thought of by anyone here on earth, we were thought of by the Creator of the Universe. If that doesn’t show you and prove to you that you are designed for a purpose, that you are created for a reason, that God has a plan for your life, that you are fully seen and fully known by the One who’s opinion ultimately matters most. God cares the most about you. God loves you the most. God gives you His full attention. God gives you more grace than you’ll ever need and He showed us that through His Son. In Him we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places. In Him we can say “Bless the Lord!”. In Him we are able to hold the title saints and sons and daughters of the Most High. In Him we are able to be holy and blameless before God in love. In Christ all of these things have been given to us freely. So, how do we bless God?
