WE ARE GOING TO MAKE IT THROUGH THIS

INTRODUCTION. IN MAX LUCADO’S BOOK, God Will Carry You Through, HE

IDENTIFIES WHAT YOU AND I THINK. HE SAYS, You fear you won’t. We all do.

We fear that the depression will never lift, the yelling will never stop, the pain will

never leave…We wonder: Will this gray sky ever brighten? This load ever lightens? We feel

stuck, trapped, locked in. Predestined for failure. Will we ever exit this pit?

Yes!

Deliverance:

out of the lion’s den for Daniel,

the prison for Peter,

the whale’s belly for Jonah,

Goliath’s shadow for David,

the storm for the disciples,

disease for the lepers,

doubt for Thomas,

the grave for Lazarus,

and the shackles for Paul.

God carries us through stuff:

through the Red Sea onto dry ground (Exodus 14:22),

through the wilderness (Deuteronomy 29:5),

through the valley of the shadow of death (Psalm 23:4),

and through the deep sea (Psalm 77:19).

Through is a favorite word of God’s:

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they

shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor

shall the flame scorch you.” (Isaiah 43:2 NKJV)

THESIS. Jesus went through trial, tribulations, death and the grave.

Because He went through it and did not stay in it, He gave you pardon for your

past and permanent acceptance for your future.

A life lived centered on Jesus Christ gives you authenticity for Christianity to know

that I will make it THROUGH THIS. When you start acting like Jesus, loving like Jesus,

uplifting like Jesus, you give yourself and others hope to MAKE IT THROUGH

You cannot blame others when you ARE STILL STUCK AND NOT GETTING

THROUGH. You cannot dress someone up and down because THEY CAUSED YOU TO

GET STUCK.

Because they are in church does not mean they are mature enough to handle your

weaknesses or resurrect your joy.

Too many people have been cultivated in condemnation that even the thought

of you being forgiven and loved threatens the lies they spoke about you. THEREFORE,

THEY DO NOT WANT YOU TO BE FREE.

The indicator of a life that is free is when you see others as Jesus sees them,

liberated, and set for a bright future.

ANTITHESIS. Our lives have been distorted based on the people we meet, the news we

listen to, and the unbalanced expectation on standards preached from the pulpit WE FEEL

STUCK.

You can’t listen to everyone who calls themselves Rev, Apostle, Bishop, Pastor,

Teacher, Evangelist.

We live proverbial crippled lives compelled to think it is not worth it.

When we think it is not worth it, we throw in the towel.

We are told from Sunday to Sunday that we do not measure up to Christ. We sit

and listen to how bad our lives are.

Yet, I find it ironic that we are never given Hope on How to Live by the Grace of God

and LEARN HOW TO Ask for Forgiveness.

We observed everybody else’s life seeking answers and when they mess up, we

get upset, leave the church, leave Christianity, and live by our own principles.

Could this explain the mass Exodus by Millennials and my generation because no

one took the time to demonstrate and show us about the love of God?

Could this explain why those who experience church hurt never find healing in

the church?

Why do we fail to consult Jesus on matters of the heart? Why do we fail to cast

cursory glances at Jesus as a model of personal, family, and church community relations?

We recommend everyone else, but fail to consult Jesus TO GET US THROUGH.

We prescribe Paul to castigate homosexuals;

Throw the 10 Commandments to condemn people who commit suicide and tell

Matthew 28:19 Christians that they are not saved until they become an Acts 2:38

Christians.

We tell someone to go seek counseling, but do not tell them to also read the Word of

God.

You use the Bible to excuse your sin, but use it to expose mine without giving me

any hope of salvation. This is why people are hopeless and scared to trust God.

The marketing and advertisement campaign of the church have led people

astray. Setting up tollbooths AND penance poll tax FOR EXONERATION OF SINS

BECAUSE THEY WANT YOU TO BELIEVE IT IS BASED ON THEM AND NOT ON JESUS.

Yes, your beliefs are really your fears attached to people who control your future.

They have taught you one think. How not to think. If you listen to them, then

everything will be alright.

ActionS without thinking is the cause of every failure. When you connect to people

who need you// to feel needed// then failure is close at hand.

You connect to people who failed to consult Jesus when it comes to effective

living.//YOU ARE STUCK AND CANNOT GET THROUGH IT.// The Bible says, everyone

has sinned and come short of the Glory of God. There is none righteous, no not one.

ORGANIZATION/OBSERVATION | There are times when we negate the life of Christ based

on our experience and our own pleasures that we live without hope, but when such time arise,

this text teaches us that when We Model the Life of Christ, we Begin to See Clearly and Start

Living Effective Lives.

When you start living effectively, you will never base your healing on someone’s

inability to apologize.

When you start living effectively, you realize that despite your downfall, you

now know that all things work together for the good when you start Following Jesus.

You’ll realize when Jesus is all you got,// you will quickly learn that He is All that

you need.

There is an element in you that can rise when Jesus is on your side. I refuse to

look back when better has been shown to me.

I am not lowering my standards to accommodate my fears, but when I look at Jesus,

one bad Chapter does not mean it is over, It means it part of the Story, Turn the Page for the

Best is Yet to Come. WE ARE GOING TO MAKE IT THROUGH THIS…

REVELANT QUESTION | How Do WE MAKE IT THROUGH THIS?

As John puts pen to paper, Quill to Parchment, we find Jesus sitting with his

Disciples, stressing the point and disposition of what is about to happen to him. Jesus says,

what I am going through is called my hour. My Hour has come.

Hour, Greek Transliteration of the Word “Hora.” It is feminine noun meaning

that it has the capability of producing something when touched by the right thing.

It is so pregnant with possibilities that when you intentionally invest in it with a lifegiving

force, that which was a possibility is brewing to become a reality.

Hora, feminine, filled with possibilities. When Hora is attached to Jesus, the lifegiving

force, Jesus is about to birth new possibilities for you and I.

It is when my wife and I got married. Many of you know that she was feminine, and

I am masculine.

When we kissed and hugged each other, we were filled with the possibility of a

great family. Yet, until I intentionally invest in her, we could not birth our beautiful

daughters.

There must be a moment, a time, a honeymoon to make this into a reality.

When the moment and time came, we had to wait for the right time, 9 months,

season to see what the possibilities were when we came together as one.

Jesus says, my Hour has come. Here it relates to season. Literally it is my season.

My season to do what?..Jesus says to die in order to save mankind, to give them a new life,

but also an hour to be glorified because of a resurrection.

When He was at the Wedding Feast and they ran out of wine, His Mother Told

Him that He needed to Help Out, but He told Her, He Told Mary It was Not My Hour,

Meaning to Show Himself as the Messiah.

When They sought to arrest Jesus and Kill Jesus for speaking openly about God

and Himself, but they did not. It was because His Hour Had not Yet Come. His Season.

Yet, here, it was at this season in verse 27, Father, save me from this hour: but for

this cause came I unto this hour. I came unto this Season.

A Season to Die and Be Resurrected.

He put it in a parable that when a seed dies, it dies unto itself. Yet, when it is

buried, it produced (possibilities) creating a great harvest.

It was not until the seed dies and buried that it spouts up to produce a great

harvest for everyone.

He says, it is my season, my hora, to now die and be resurrected.

It is when this hour, this season comes, it comes with the possibility to bring about a

new reality.

This new reality is for us. Yes, we are deceitful and destined for a burning hell.

Yet, when Jesus came for us, he called us to be a new creation.

The Bible says, Therefore, If anyone be in Christ, they are a new Creation, The Old has

passed away, behold the new has come.”

Creation, not in a sense of a new body until we are resurrected, but a new outlook, a

new holiness of life, a fresh expectation. It is a new mind.

It here that Jesus says I am not exempting from challenges; I am not exempting you

from hardships in society, or the pain you will face.

Yet with my death and resurrection, I am giving you strength to overcome it all.

You thought you could not get over that divorce, but you found out that my strength is

made perfect in weakness.

You thought you could not deal with the death of your father, mother or sister,

but you found out that weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

You thought that your enemies would get the best of you, but you found out that I

have made your enemies your footstool to get to my purpose for you.

My bank account of love can pay for the hurts that they put you through. It can

give you financial freedom;

Help you find relationships that work; and Even find it in your heart to forgive

those that abused you.

My death will give you a reason to live in expectation AND PULL YOU THROUGH IT.

It is not over because you went through it, but because you survived, it is evidence

that I had my hand on you.

That if Death did not take me out, and when you follow me, you will realize that No

Weapon Formed Against You Will Prosper.

The longer you linger over what you lost, the longer you postpone your purpose.

Don’t hide your scars because it is proof that you survived what should have destroyed you

I got enough to start again. I got enough raise my kids without their father. I

got enough to deal with lies you tell. I got enough to deal with the rejection they put me

through. WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS.

Why, because in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that

loved us. So I got enough to live an effective life when I live in Christ Jesus.///

Pastor, HOW TO DO START THE PROCESS TO GET THROUGH IT?

ELEVATION, ACTIVATION, AND REVELATION

SYNTHESIS.

POINT (1) LIFTED | ELEVATION First there needs to be an elevation of Jesus in your day

to day living. In verse 32, Jesus begins to tell his Disciples, And I, When I AM Lifted up

From the Earth.

• Lifted. Greek Transliteration “HUP SO.” It Means to Elevate, to Raise High, Exalted.

• The literal connotation is that Jesus will die a death of crucifixion.

• There is nothing the Jews or Gentiles could to about the reason why He came

into the world.

• Yet, when they lift Him Up, Elevate Him, Things Will Change for the Better in Your

Life.

• But the Spiritual Connotation is that when you speak about his Birth, Life, death,

burial and resurrection, you are speaking authority over you situation.

o You are speaking possibilities when you hit dead ends.

o You are showing others that when they think it is over; it was only

halftime, because I have more living to do.

o When you speak and elevate Jesus Christ, you cause an interruption of

your troublES IN YOUR LIVE.

o HERE IT IS, BECAUSE JESUS IS WITH ME, let them know that I will be

returning to my regular scheduled purpose.

• Jesus says, if I be lifted, elevated, and exalted.

o This is where sin is forgiven, Forgiveness is obtained, and the slate is wiped

clean.

• If I be lifted up. I will satisfy a deep longing, give you answers to your questions,

and find meaning in life.

• IN-STEP FOCUS | When you decide to lift up Jesus, the devil will put you on a hit list

to terminate you.

o It is when Martin Luther King, Jr. proclaim Jesus Christ to uplift the people

around him, he was targeted to termination.

o It is when Elijah the prophet obeyed God that Jezebel targeted him for

termination.

o It is when Paul started churches and Peter starting preaching the gospel that

the Pharisees targeted them for termination.

o I am here to let you know that when you lift Jesus, there will be some

people in your life that will target you to bring you down.

§ You wondering why after you accept Jesus, you find that problems hit

you left and right, making you doubt Jesus.

§ The Bible says, the enemy comes BUT to steal, kill and destroy.

§ He does not mess with anyone if you going in the same direction as

Satan.

• That’s why people are satisfied with their sin because it

makes them feel good. As long as the devil makes you feel

good, then you are no threat to Him.

§ Yet, when you start lifting up Jesus.

§ They will throw the rocks at you and hide their hand.

§ They will be jealous of you and you can’t figure out why.

§ They will stop coming to church; They will tell lies and run

people away.

o You wonder AFTER praisING God, YOU walk into a war zone in your family.

o It is all because the enemy does not like you lifting of Jesus.

• Yet, the Bible says, My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various

trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces [a]patience. 4 But let

patience have its perfect work, that you may be [b]perfect and complete, lacking

nothing.

o I might not look like much, or have as much, but when I go through it, The

Bible says I will lack nothing.

o Whatever you need, God’s Got It.

o I will not stay the same way as you met me. I feel that a change and

transformation will come.

o When WE lift up the name of Jesus, WE ARE purchasing OUR ticket,

packing up OUR bags, AND WE ARE getting ready move THROUGH IT.

BECAUSE WE LACK NOTHING.

o When WE lift up Jesus, people push through problems and produce

strength to obtain a promised future.

o It is when WE start Lifting, elevating, and exalting the life of Jesus, we turn

our face to the rising Sun knowing that Jesus is the start of effective living.

TRANSITION: AFTER ELEVATION, SOMETHING BEGINS TO HAPPEN.

It is like plugging up a lamp or your iPhone into the socket.

Something will Activate. All that the lamp and IPhone was created to be, elevation is

like plugging it in and what is experienced is activation.

POINT (2) WILL DRAW | ACTIVATION. Verse 32 | And I, When I am lifted Up from the

Earth, I will Draw All Men…

JESUS NOW affirms that all who called on the Name of Jesus will be saved in because

of this drawing.

Jesus is now speaking in the present tense and had not died, but when He dies

and be lifted, the magnetism of the Cross will be so powerful that sins can be forgiven

when you believe on Him.

When you Believe on Him, He will give you the Holy Spirit to empower you to do

great things.

Drawing is the response when you elevate Christ Jesus. There is always a cause and

response with Jesus.

• There is activation when your actions and words line up with your belief.

• The Drawing will make you lose selfish desires to bring others into

communion with Christ to have an abundant life.

• The Drawing will have you serving others, helping them to find fulfillment

through hard ships.

• Yet, I love Jesus. He says, that I will Draw. It literally means attraction. When you

go deeper this text, you’ll find out that God wants relationship with you.

o How many of us long for a true relationship with people?

§ How many of you have been bamboozled by friends, hoodwinked by

family, and deceived by co-workers?

o Yes, I am tired of people who show not commitment to the relationship.

o I am exhausted trying to please you and not upset you.

o I am losing myself trying to not offend you because of your sensitivity.

o I am tired of playing hopscotch with our friendship, one minute you

speaking to me, the next minute you mad at me.

o I have no respect for people who refuse to change because they have no

place for wisdom, no room for Jesus, and a harden heart.

• BUT WHEN I ACTIVATED MY FAITH, I found out that There is not a Friend Like

the Lowly Jesus, No One One. WHEN WE ACTIVATE OUR FAITH WE FIND OUT

THAT JESUS

o Will never leave you nor forsake you.

o Will never sleep nor slumber when you are crying at night.

o Will remove your doubts, overpower your fears, and give you a blessing.

o WILL release your potential. WILL heal your hurt. When you come to

me, I will uncover what I have in store for you.

o You will walk with a new mind. You will talk with authority.

o When they tried to block you, I will make a way for you.

o When I draw you unto myself, it won’t be just for you.

§ But your speech, actions and conversations will be so seasoned

and soaked in the restoration of Christ, what when you see

people, they will ask, how do I get a hold of that.

o Your response should be, OH TASTE AND SEE THAT THE LORD IS GOOD.

o You must crucify your desires. Crucify your Zodiac Sign. Learn How to

Follow Jesus.

• When He draws, Mama is coming back. Daddy is coming back. When He Draws God

is activating your life to the better.

• It might not seem good at the beginning, but ever since that wonderful day, my

soul has been satisfied.

POINT (3) UNTO ME | REVELATION | Verse 32 | And I, When I am lifted Up from the Earth,

I will Draw All Men UNTO ME

This is now revelation. When you come to Jesus Christ, He will reveal unto Who

He Really Is. WHEN YOU KNOW, YOU AND I CAN MAKE IT THROUGH IT.

ILLUSTRATION | A MAN was out with his wife and they got caught in a terrible hailstorm.

This was a massive hailstorm. The hail was as large as baseballs.

Under the deluge coming against them, the man realized that if he didn’t do

something, his wife would be severely hurt.

He quickly draped himself over his wife, covering her with his own body so

that instead of the storm hitting his wife, it hit him. The hailstones seemed to get

bigger as the man bent over his wife, protecting her.

The large balls came down harder onto the man.

They Hurt him badly. After a couple of minutes, his ears started bleeding along

with some spots on his head.

The man tried to lead his wife to safety, but the stones were coming out faster

and harder.

The pounding stones took their toll. Weakened by the onslaught, the man finally

collapsed over his wife, only able to shield her from the danger.

After the storm was over, the man was left with scars from where the balls had

battered away at him.

The remnants of sores, cuts, and abrasions would forever be reminders to him of

the day he saved his wife.

This is a true story.

On the local newscast, the man’s wife was asked how she felt about their

experience. She said, “Every time I look at that scar, on his head, on his neck, and on his

ear, I love him more.

Every time I see the scar, I love him more, because he sacrificed himself, for me.”

ESSENTIALLY, THE ONLY WAY I MADE IT THROUGH IS BECAUSE HE COVERED

ME.

JESUS IS THE WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE, NO ONE COMES TO FATHER

EXCEPT BY HIM.

JESUS IS A WAY MAKER. I FOUND HIM TO BE PRESENT HELP IN THE TIME OF

NEED.

WHEN YOU TRY JESUS, YOU KNOW THAT ALL YOUR SINS AND GRIEFS HE CAN

BEAR.

WHEN JESUS DRAWS YOU NEARER, YOU FIND OUT THAT MY DESTINATION WILL

BE HEAVEN, FOR HE TOLD THOMAS, WHERE I AM, THERE YOU WILL BE ALSO.

HE WAS LIFTED UP FOR YOU. HE HUNG BLED AND DIED FOR YOU. HE ROSE AGAIN

ON THE 3RD JUST FOR YOU.

When you and I get to heaven, Jesus will be the only person in eternity with scars.

He will have holes in His hands, holes in His feet, and a hole in His side.

He will be your eternal reminder that the only reason you are there is because He

stood in between the wrath of God and judgment headed your way.

He covered you with His love and allowed none of the STORMS OF LIFE to damage

you.

He was disfigured for you. This is the love of Christ.

CLOSING POINT. You must believe that you will make it through this. When you believe,

you must tell someone else to give them hope.

• Racial Tension

• Pandemic Fatigue

• Broken Marriages

• Insecurities with self, on your job, or at school

• HOW. MY HOPE IS BUILT ON NOTHING LESS THAN JESUS CHRIST AND HIS

RIGHTEOUSNESS..

o CHILDREN OF ISRAEL WERE DELIVERED

o ISSUE OF BLOOD

o JEHOSHAPHAT

o GOD SEES YOU.

o BUT IT IS UP TO YOU TO BE OBEDIENT AND PARTICPATE IN YOUR

DELIVERANCE.
