There are many wonderful things that we could say about Mrs. Daisy Pippin.

She was a hard-working woman whose intelligence and ethics opened many doors for her to help in supporting her family.
She was organized and efficient, always looking ahead and preparing for the future. 1 Corinthians 14:40
1 Corinthians 14:40 KJV 1900
40 Let all things be done decently and in order.
She insisted that her family stay organized as well.
Any messes in the room had to disappear before the end of the day.
She loved to read.
Her kindle was one of her most prized possessions.
Over the years, she amassed over 1,400 books on her device.
She had read every one of them.
She was unashamed to think outside the box.
When her son Tim was ready to drag main street in Pryor for the first time Daisy volunteered to be his date.
She didn’t want others to miss out on the good things of life.
When Mark refused to eat his fried okra, Mrs. Daisy insisted that he try it.
Now, like every other normal person in the world, he too loves fried okra.
Mrs. Daisy was not an easy person to keep down.
Two years ago, I received a call from some of our ladies saying that Mrs. Daisy didn’t look like she was going to make it much longer.
She was in the hospital fighting to breathe, so we went to pray with her.
Of course, not much longer turned into two more years of life.
The last time I went to see Mrs. Daisy, I experienced what all of her family experienced on a regular basis.
I saw a lady that would not be defeated.
She was up and down so many times going around the house.
Much to her husband Bill’s chagrin.
He kept telling her he’d go get whatever she needed, but Mrs. Daisy was strong and like to do things for herself.
She probably knew that even with her limited strength, she’d still find whatever she needed faster than if Bill went looking for it.
Even a week before she died, Mrs. Daisy spent two solid days working and making notes for her family, almost as if she knew, her time on this earth was almost up.

One of the most amazing things about Mrs. Daisy, and Bro. Bill’s testimony is the story of their decision to trust Jesus.

Mrs. Daisy has written in her heavily used Bible “Repented - March 2012”, “Baptized - April 2012”.
These dates are both just a few months shy of Daisy’s 68th birthday.
One study says that once a person passes 30, there is only a 4% chance that they will receive Christ.
What do you think the chances are for a person over 65 making that decision to place their faith in Jesus Christ for forgiveness of sins?
I can tell you it is low.
Are we really surprised then, that Mrs. Daisy Pippin beat the odds in this area as well?
Bill and Daisy Pippin proved that faith and a relationship with Jesus is not just a child’s fairy tale.
It’s a life-changing decision for people of all ages.
All of us have the same sin problem. Romans 3:23
Romans 3:23 KJV 1900
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Because of our sin we all have the same judgment placed on us. Romans 6:23
Romans 6:23 KJV 1900
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Thankfully, God loved us too much to leave us in this condition. Romans 5:8
Romans 5:8 KJV 1900
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
John 3:16 KJV 1900
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Now, because of what Jesus did for us, we can have forgiveness of our sins and reconciliation to our creator. Romans 10:9-10
Romans 10:9–10 KJV 1900
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Acts 16:31 KJV 1900
31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
Mrs. Daisy, incredibly made that decision at 67 years of age.
Because of that, she is in heaven today.
Because of that, I know that I will see her again.
If you have never made the decision to receive the forgiveness of your sins today, then why put it off?
As long as you are living, it’s never too late.
Maybe you need to beat the odds yourself, and ask Jesus to be your Savior.
Then you too can look forward to a reunion with Daisy Pippin and all of those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ.
