My topic is You are not Alone

Scripture

Matthew 1:23 NIV

23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).

Background

When the ministry of John the Baptist began, there had not been a prophetic voice for more than 400 years.

When Jesus came on the scene, the Jews, who at the time were under Roman occupation, were desperate for the arrival of the Messiah. When you look at it from a human perspective, it seems as if God was just sitting on His hands, dragging His feet, wasting time.

These people would have felt abandoned.

I am not the only person who have felt like this

Lots of people are suffering with Covid

You may be thinking why do i have to go through this?

Some of you probably lost a parent or a loved one.

You feel all alone

Are your present circumstances making you feel depressed and alone ?

Do you feel like you are about to drown?

Today I want to remind you that you are not alone.

No matter what we are facing - we can trust that God is with us

In this portion of Scripture we see that God is our Immanuel - which means God is with us

You may be feeling that in 2021, God felt distant. Like he is far from you.

I want to guarantee you that if you feel like God is distant - then who moved?

It definetlely wasnt him.

He wants you to know today that you are not alone.

In a time when everyne is social distnacing

People are trying to keep 6 feet away from each other

God has never social distanced himself from us

He is right by our side

With you through whatever storm you may be facing right now.

many times we can find it looks like God is not with us

with all these trials and tribulations

lots of believers we see them struggling and we wonder where is God

You are not the only person facing this

Today I just want to remind you that God is with you

Jesus said to His disciples, “Lo I am with you always even until the end of the age.”

Do you realize that? That God is with you.

Start by seeing God with you in whatever you do and wherever you are.

Perhaps you are going for surgery. Well, see the Lord in the operating theatre with you, guiding the hands of the surgeons.

It will surely calm your mind

Maybe you are isolated and all by yourself.

Today God wants you and I to know

No matter what we are facing - we can trust that God is with us
