Creatures, not divine –
Personal spirits, not flesh and blood –
• Intellect (1 Pet 1:12)
• Emotion (Job 38:7)
• Will (Dan 10:10-14)
• Speak (Dan 10; Mt 1; Lk 1-2; etc.)
• Spirits (Heb 1:14; invisible in Col 1:16)
• Bodily form (Gen 18-19; Mt 28:5; Heb 13:2); contrast heavenly visions (Is 6; Ezek 1:5-8;
Dan 10:5-7; Rev 10:1-3)
• They do not procreate (Mt 22:30) and they do not die (Lk 20:36).
• Male or female? Gen 18:2; Josh 5:13; Lk 1:13; contrast Zech 5:5-11.
Powerful, not omnipotent – Ps 103:20; Mt 28:2; Acts 5:19; 12:7; Rev 10:1; etc. Dan 10:13
Wise, not omniscient – 2 Sam 14:20; 1 Pet 1:12
Intangible, not omnipresent – Dan 9:21, 23; Dan 10:10-14
Glorious, but reflectors – Ps 104:4/Heb 1:7; Rev 18:1; Lk 2:9
DISCUSS: Lower or Higher than Man? –
• Psalm 8, esp. v 5
• Heb 2:7, 9
• 1 Cor 6:3
