The All-Just God

After David writes about how God created us so wonderfully. David looks down to earth again and sees a sharp contrast between God’s plan and mankind.
Evil is everywhere! This shock brings David to cry for justice!
Death to the Wicked!
Psalm 139:19 NLT
O God, if only you would destroy the wicked! Get out of my life, you murderers!
David’s heart cry is to ask God to remove the wicked from his path!
The wicked! The Guilty!
Isaiah 11:4 NKJV
But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, And decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.
Exodus 23:7 NKJV
Keep yourself far from a false matter; do not kill the innocent and righteous. For I will not justify the wicked.
David calls them wicked because they speak against God! Their lips use God’s name in vain! They violate and mock God!
Psalm 139:20 NKJV
For they speak against You wickedly; Your enemies take Your name in vain.
David explains his perspective as being right! I hate those who hate God!
I hate those who are against you God!
Psalm 139:21 NKJV
Do I not hate them, O Lord, who hate You? And do I not loathe those who rise up against You?
David describes his hate as being pure and perfect nothing false about it!
If they are God’s enemies then they are David’s enemies
Psalm 139:22 NKJV
I hate them with perfect hatred; I count them my enemies.
Then David invites God’s perspective into His heart! He asks God to search Him and to try him. David wants God to know his anxieties.
Psalm 139:23 NKJV
Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties;
Davids final request is for God’s guidance and direction. What is needed for Him to stay on the way to everlasting.
Psalm 139:24 NKJV
And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.
In the matter of Justice we need God’s Wisdom and direction!
How does God approach Justice and Grace?
How can He? You cannot have justice and grace together. You either have to have one or the other.
Psalm 101:1 NKJV
I will sing of mercy and justice; To You, O Lord, I will sing praises.
God is very clear about the outcome of those caught up in wickedness.
2 Corinthians 6:14 NKJV
Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
We might be looking for Justice in life but the truth is that Justice has already come to us!
Judgment has already been pronounced!
Sentences have been issued!
The word Justice in the old testament means to “make things right” It means restitution, restoration.
Isaiah 42:1 NKJV
“Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles.
Jesus brought forth Justice!
Restitution has been made! The cost of our sins has been covered!
You see Justice means that payment must be made!
Romans 6:23 NKJV
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
What kind of payment to make things right again for us?
If God says that the payment for sin is death! Then for justice to be enforced death must be the payment!
The example of the 2 young men!
Matthew 23:23 NKJV
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.
Today we all stand in the courtroom of God!
Jesus is offering to pay our debt. Justice will be made complete.
God will enforce Justice!
Jesus offers grace and mercy! If we take it let us fully receive to day the gift of life and that everlasting! There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus!
Micah 6:8 NKJV
He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?
