The Living Hope

25  For I know that my Redeemer lives,

and at the last he will stand upon the earth.

26  And after my skin has been thus destroyed,

yet in my flesh I shall see God,

(1) The redeemer lives.
He was in the first and He will be in the last. The Bible tells us in John 1:1 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
I will see God face to face one day and oh what excitement is going to be in my heart. Job 19:27 whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another. My heart faints within me!
Just to know that my Savior loved me enough to go to that cross die for me and go to the grave defeat Satan and rise again on that third day with sin defeated forever. How can you not love a God like that. How can anyone ever say that they don’t have to accept God to go to Heaven.
So in these first few scriptures this afternoon you can see where our hope begins. We don’t have to walk around defeated Jesus has already won the battle for you. So why are you walking around in a cloud of doom? Why are you wallowing in a pool of self pity? Pick yourself up and carry on, dry that pity pool from your body and live the life that Christ prepared for you to live. A life of joy in Him! Because my Redeemer lives.
(2) Hope for the future
Make God first in your life!
God cares for you and is always by your side no matter what the situation is your going through He is there for you. Psalms 16:8 I have set the LORD always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure.
We are planted on a firm foundation.
(3) Resurrection power.
My soul will come out of that grave and I will rise up to meet my Savior in the air. Then will live with Him for eternity. Have you ever thought about eternity? Have you ever tried to put a time to that? Let me tell you that’s impossible. And that is what we have to hope for. That is why we serve our Savior Jesus. That is why we let our light shine for the rest of this dark world so they can find the same hope that we have. We don’t need anything else in our lives except you Jesus! Ephesians 1:20 that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.
You understand that last verse right as we encourage one another we need to carry that over to the rest of the world. If you’re at the grocery store tell someone about Christ. If you’re pumping gas tell the person next to you the good news.
(4) Revealing our hope.
Ephesians 1:18-20 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might 20 that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places,
These verses tell us that we shouldn’t want for anything else in life because Christ Jesus is there to supply all our needs. He’s given us the riches of His Glory which should sustain us forever and ever. Look further down that same scripture in vs. 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. Not only as we live here today but for all eternity. We have His promise that is our hope today. We need to depend on that hope a lot stronger today than we ever have. This world is full of wickedness. You need to stand on His Word and continue to live it each and every day.
You can’t be slack if you open up a small crack the devil is going to sneak through. And if you continue on the way that caused the crack in the beginning that crack is going to become a canyon and you’ll be attacked from all sides. Then last but not least we have:
(5) Resurrection psalms
Ephesians 1:20 20 that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places,
We have that glorious day that Christ arose from that grave after defeating Satan in his own realm. Then rose again on that third day we have a living God. Can I get an amen. This is something we should be shouting from the rooftops. We Have a Living Savior and His name is Jesus. So brothers and sisters if you don’t get anything else out of today’s devotional just remember this we have a hope in a risen living Savior and he has promised to come again to bring us to the place that he has prepared for us. Let’s pray.
