Have you ever made a plan? I’m sure you have. Many of us have already planned on what we are going to eat for lunch, and if we are lucky our plans will not be ruined. But many things fall in life that cause our plans to be thrown off track. How many of you can say that if you talked to your teenage self you could confidently say “You were right. The plan you made our for life has gone off perfectly without a hitch and we are exactly where we thought we would be”? Now how many of you can sit there and say “I had no idea I would be were I am in this moment”? You would be hard pressed to find someone who said their life has gone perfectly according to their plan. There is always a wrench thrown in the gears, and a curve ball that we were not expecting.
We are roughly one month into the year, and has it not been a whirlwind so far? So many people have become sick. Some of you are returning to church for the first time in a few weeks due to quarantine, many of us have already missed weeks due to this virus. I myself missed the Christmas festivities, some missed New Years celebrations, and many missed the first or second week of work for this new year. I know that you all lamented missing work. The thing is I believe that we are all tired of this. Our entire world is at odds over this pandemic. Family’s have turned on each other, church members have changed their views on their fellow Christians because of their stance on different topics, life-long friends have cut ties with each other, anger abounds, and the hearts of many have seemed to grow cold.
This world is starting to look more grim everywhere you turn. This may prompt us to ask the Lord what in the world is going on? What does He have planned? Does He have a plan? He certainly does.
