In the morning

Psalm 63:1–2 (AMP)
A Psalm of David; when he was in the Wilderness of Judah. O GOD, You are my God, earnestly will I seek You; my inner self thirsts for You, my flesh longs and is faint for You, in a dry and weary land where no water is.
So I have looked upon You in the sanctuary to see Your power and Your glory.
We set the stage last week for the plan for this year.
The goal of CLM members will be to “Know, Go, and Grow!
Phase 1 of the plan is to help you “Know” Christ more!
Knowing Christ and the power of His resurrection is the stating point for any serious follower.
Jesus spoke the following words to His Father
John 17:1–3 NKJV
Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
The foundation of the journey we are on to Know God rests in the finished work of Christ - the gift of eternal life!
The Apostle John told us
1 John 5:13 NKJV
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
Notice that the whole purpose set before them was to have a confidence and assurance of their salvation.
If the foundation of the house is not solid then when the shaking comes it will not stand!
Look at that verse again “That you may CONTINUE” to believe
Notice in the opening verse the description, “A Psalm of David when he was in the wilderness of Judah”
Years of walking with God had prepared David for such a time as this!
Knowing Him and His faithfulness is the basis upon which we can continue to walk through the wilderness experiences!
The key to “continue to believe in the name of the Son of God” is knowing that gift of God is salvation! Eternal life with Him…all the rest is icing on the cake!
Again look at David’s response to the unjust trail he was suffering under King Saul
Psalm 63:1 NKJV
O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water.
“You are my God” intimate, personnel and raw!
He did not seek answers in councilors, advisors, or friends the direction of his help was heavenward!
Remember that from the first day of salvation until the moment of our last breath we are a journey through this barren land!
Hebrews 11:8–10 NKJV
By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
So it is with us!
Just as the Israelites in the wilderness, God dwelt in the “tabernacle” now we are the tabernacle of God
Hebrews 9:11 NKJV
But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation.
Paul told the believers at Corinth
1 Corinthians 6:19 NKJV
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
Look at verse 2 of the opening Scripture
Psalm 63:2 NKJV
So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory.
IT is when our focus is on the presence of the Lord that we are encouraged and reminded of His power and glory!
In verse 5 David sums up his whole experience with God
Psalm 63:5 NKJV
My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips.
The word Satisfied here is the Hebrew word meaning to be fulfilled
Notice in verse 1 that David says his inner self thirsts for God!
It is only in the presence of God that we can be truly satisfied!
Once we settle this issue in our hearts then we can begin to grow in the grace and love of Christ!
Let me ask you today…are you satisfied?
Can you truly say that if the blessings of God would stop flowing it is enough to have eternal salvation?
David said
Psalm 63:8 AMP
My whole being follows hard after You and clings closely to You; Your right hand upholds me.
Are you following hard after God clinging closely to Him or are you loosely walking the road of llife?
