Evangelism:
Evangelism:
Our vision theme is to build. In Psalm 127:1 “1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: Except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.”
This tells me that if the Lord isn’t in it, it won’t go.
It also tells me that if the Lord is watching over what we have, we’ll lose it.
Good thing is when it comes to evangelism and going out and telling people about Jesus Christ, the Lord is always in it. The problem is almost always on our end.
We have to be aware of where the Lord is leading. We have a lot of young people getting saved. That means that the youth groups, and the college groups are going to be a big part of this vision.
So I am putting out a call to you young people specifically to engage in evangelism. Whether that is in school, or church evangelism efforts, grab tracts, take Bibles, and get out there and spread the word.
As a church we will be sure you have tracts. We will be sure to organize street preaching, and getting out tracts, but I want to encourage you to make some goals.
Lead someone to Jesus Christ.
Let me define that. If you are not the one who actually sits down with them and shares the gospel, that doesn’t mean you haven’t won anyone to Christ.
If you are inviting them to church. Handing them off to someone else to present the gospel. Being one of the people who talked to them about the gospel before they actually get saved. Giving them a tract. Just being a good Christian friend, you have served your part.
On average, a person will hear the gospel 7 times before they get saved.
1 cor 3:5-7 “5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? 6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.”
3. I want to publicly acknowledge Carlos. But in general, this is to all our young Christians. 1 Tim 4:12 “12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”
4. My last point is this. Live the gospel. For in in Romans 1:16 “16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
Take every opportunity to participant what God calls you to.
