35A voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.”

ὁ υἱός μου ὁ ἐκλελεγμένος
And a voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, my Chosen One. Listen to him!”
A significant combination of early manuscripts has “my Son, the Chosen One,” but some early manuscripts and related later witnesses have “my Beloved Son.” The presence of “Beloved” may be a result of harmonization with parallel passages in Mark 9:7 and Matt 17:5. Luke also uses the phrase “my Beloved Son” earlier, in 3:22, which may explain its presence in this passage.
