1 John 2:1 AV
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
Advocate
one who pleads the cause of another in a court of civil law. (1828)
An advocate is a lawyer.
No lawyer will take a case that he knows is against the law, unless he is a crook.
A lawyer speaks on behalf of his client.
Some times when the client speaks he is removed from court.
A wise attorney told me, “A man that does not study, know, practice, and keep the law should not even represent himself much less another.”
Matthew 5:17 AV
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Here are the EVIDENCES of the Lord working.

I. The Movement Of The Lord. V.30

30 And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would not that any man should know it.
Sometimes the Lord works silently.
Sometimes the Lord works secretly.
Sometimes the Lord works spiritually.

II. The Message Of The Lord. V.31

31 For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.
Jesus taught them of His death.
Jesus taught them of His burial.
Jesus taught them of His resurrection.

III. The Motivation Of The Lord. V.32

32 But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him.
Are you afraid to ask the Lord about your situation?
Are you afraid to ask the Lord about your salvation?
Are you afraid to ask the Lord about your sanctification?
Conclusion:
Did you know the Lord is working?
In the OT the average Jew did not understand crucifixion neither did these disciples.
When they were converted in the OT the accepted it and understood it.
Abraham
John 8:58 AV
Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
Hebrews 11:8 AV
By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
Hebrews 11:17 AV
By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
Deuteronomy 21:22-23
22 And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree:
23 His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
Romans 4:2–3 AV
2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. 3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
