Opening Statements & Obituary
We have gathered here today to lay to rest David Bruce Scott.
Read obituary.
Introductory Scripture & Prayer
As the Word of God just said, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:”
Death is never easy, but is always sure.
There is a time to live, but there is also a time to die.
It is something that we all must face.
And if there is no escaping it, I think it best for us to embrace it.
Thankfully, God’s Word gives us insight on how to do just that.
It teaches us what is to be expected in eternity, and how to prepare for it.
As I wrap up my time with you here today, I want to share just a few of those verses with you:
Closing Prayer
Father, we gather here this evening to remember the life and mourn the death of Bruce.
We ask that you would comfort each family member and friend.
May they turn to your Word for comfort, be encouraged by what it says, and purpose in their heart to seek you while you may be found.
Amen!
