A Bold and Powerful Witness

Acts 6:8-15

Stephen was one of the 7, not an apostle

A church member

Took food to little old ladies

Full of Grace and Power

All of us should be bold witnesses

7

The same Holy Spirit empowers all true believers

32

God was using Stephen in a spectacular way

Great signs and wonders v. 8

God gifts each person in a special way

Only you are you

Witness as God has created you to witness

Opposition was growing

We should all be prepared for opposition

We are sheep among wolves

16

Wolves will come anywhere there are Lambs

God was giving Stephen great wisdom

Holy Spirit gave him the words to say

10

God will gives us the wisdom to do His work

In the power of the Holy Spirit boldly proclaim the truth of Jesus Christ.

False accusations v. 11

Stirred up the people (crowds) elders (leaders) and scribes (legal and academic) against Stephen v. 12

False witnesses v. 13

Same accusations that were made against Jesus

57-59

13-14

We will also face opposition and accusation when we stand for Christ.

In that moment God gave Stephen a very special empowerment that reflected on his face

God gives us the power we need to boldly stand in the face of opposition and proclaim His Truth.
