Let’s do another quick review of what we have learned so far.
Week one- We look at what is Spiritual Growth.
We saw how Jesus at an early age went look for other to talk with about God. he lessoned to them and learned from them too.
In order for us to grow spiritual we must look to helps for help, talk with other about Jesus and allow others to help us grow.
Behold this we must first learn to listen and seek God’s wisdom.
Week two- We talk about find peace in these missed up world we live in.
Has Christ followers we can only find peace one way.
That is by partnering with God to find it.
He can and will provide us with peace.
Last week- We look at the love of God.
What does the love of God mean for you and I the helpless sinner.
God loved us so much that he sent Jesus to save us.
In order to experience this love we must first be willing to die to ourself.
This week we will be look at a what Jesus had to say about who can receive the love of God.
If you have your bible please turn to Luke 7:36-50.
If not you can follow a long on the screen in a few minutes.
Before we look at the passage today.
I have a question for you.
So think for a moment.
What does freedom mean to you?
You can say it out load or post it in the chat if you like.
What does freedom mean to you?
Freedom is defined as- the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint.
It not just what the definition say freedom is.
It all about what you think freedom might be.
So of us think freedom is to make choice for our selfs, or to do what we want.
You might think that freedom gives you certain right to do thing weither these things are right or wrong.
With all that freedom can mean.
How do we find freedom with Christ.
Is there truly freedom with him or is there something hidden that we have to worry about.
Lets take a look at what Jesus said in Luke 7:36
Lets please right here for a sec.
We see two people here beside Jesus and we can learn something for both of these people.
First being the
Pharisee
A Pharisee was one of biggest part in the three Jewish sects.
This man were teachers of the law.
They strived to live out the Mosaic law to perfection and have everyone else do the same.
They often looked down upon those that sinned.
Thinking that they were above them because they follow the laws.
A lot of this group opposed Jesus but some did follow him.
Next person we see is
The Woman
This unnamed woman.
From the info we have she most like was a prostitute.
She would have been look down upon by the Pharisee and we see this when the Pharisee say if this man was a prophet he would have know what type of woman she was.
Jesus didn’t care.
This woman took great courage to come in and wash Jesus feet.
You see it was not custom for this to happen an she could have been pushed out.
Its kind of hard for us to warp our head around how this would have come in from behind and start wash his feet with her tears.
The table would have be low to the ground and the people eating would have been reclining toward the center of tablee with their feet behind them.
like you see in these picture.
This women was crying not out of sadness but out of thankfulness and reverent of who Christ was.
How many of us are like one of these two?
You might be like the Pharisee that is high and might and nothing can touch me or you like this women an sinner that is humble by the presents of Jesus.
Like take a look at how Jesus answer the Pharisee question.
Jesus give us all freedom from our sins
no matter what you have done if are like the pharisee are the women your are forgive.
We can find it when we look to him.
When you accept the truth of the gospel, it can being you freedom.
The gospel shows us that God’s plan for us has always been reconciliation.
When we accept the gospel as truth, we can be freed to begin healing the hurts, mistakes, and regrets of our past.
Application Point: The gospel renews and refreshes us through God’s healing touch.
When we surrender our hearts and our lives to him, he will never be outdone.
